    I did spend $500 on it...😂.... actually $530 with tax from Knife Center. The "Apocalyptic" stonewashed version.
    Pricey but I am happy with it.
    Definitely one of the more coveted OTFs on the market.

      @ericsierra-franco7802 Agreed; traded a Dagger Dama Troodon Signature and some old knives a great bit north of 500$ worth for mine, great knife, don't regret it at all for dead stock knives.
      The Apocalyptic is my favorite beater finish for MTs and I have it on a UTX-85 and Ultratech, great for hiding abuse if you use it on something you shoulda used a box cutter for, hahaha.

    No problem on the lenght of your response. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Most don’t!
    Anyway the all black is a winner for sure. It’s expensive but hoping its worth it?
    Thank you for sharing your experience.

      @Maverick1791 I was only hesitant to buy the more expensive models because I hadn't experienced them, started with an Troodon, UTX85 and Ultratech and now absolutely think they're worth it but I've also wanted one for 15+ years, thankfully they hold their value pretty well if you don't use them if you don't like it, sell it!
      Also great pairing big knife little gun! Hahaha. Did you see the new P365 that was announced, the Fuse? Looks interesting.
      And i created the channel so I could spread knowledge and talk with other likemindied folks, best part of having a TH-cam honestly that's why I try to respond as much as possible when possible.

      @@blueeyesactual Thanks. I may end up getting the Tactical like you did. If you know of a great site to buy one, please pass it on. I know thrre are knockoffs to watch out for.
      Also, whoever runs the marketing for Sig, they deserve thr biggest raise in history. From my last count there were 6+ variations of the 365. I bought the original back in 2018. Just recently sold it. Paired down so i can buy a new hunting rifle.
      Too many UTube Channels put out great videos BUT never respond to questions @/or comments. They eventually just fade away!

      @@Maverick1791 Blade HQ, DLT Trading, EKnives and SouthernEdges are my go to websites if I can't find them there Microtech actually has a dealer finder on their website so you can locate only Microtech associated dealers to avoid fakes! Super cool they do that.

    Perfect, I have always wondered if you could hold the handle up against a "soft tissue" object, and engage the blade opening mechanism to have the blade pierce into that "soft tissue" object? I am just asking, I am not contemplating this, again it's me thinking in a GTFOM moment.

    • @blueeyesactual
      @blueeyesactual  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bills.2214 Great thought process! I honestly have fired them into my leg on accident, I don't know if it's meant to but they have stopped. Maybe with the stronger spring and that specific "blade feature" it'll work a bit differently, though?
      I honestly would say it's a great, as you so eloquently put, GTFOM-RN implement, and even a Lightening OTF or something in the budget category, if legal in your area (Which I know they are in yours as we've talked about it previously) is not a bad deal for even 20$ let alone the price these go for, which is approaching handgum money.

    Now that's a bad ass knife! The crazy thing about living in Cali, for me at least, I can carry a gun but not a knife. My knife with a blade over 2 inches would get me in trouble. haha. I've always admired knives but had to stop carrying one so I don't catch a charge and lose my CCW permit. CA laws are so stupid! Haha
    OTF knives are awesome!

    • @blueeyesactual
      @blueeyesactual  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jerdog333 Thank you, brother! Yeah, I go back enough that I remember the pre-9/11 days bringing knives to school in your pocket or backpack for Scout meetings. It's hard to believe we went from knives/firearms on planes and less than 25 years later; can't even carry a 3" blade in a lot of states. Kinda crazy.
      Does that apply to things like multi-tools, box cutters and things of that nature? I'm so addicted to knives I literally don't know how I'd cope without at least 5-7 sharp things on my person at any time!
      I truly understand the thought of not wanting to test the murky ass water and even begin to lose what liberties you do have out there. Hopefully one day we'll all have a true representative interpretation of constitutional carry, including tools, attachments, magazines, armor, etc and things being de-stigmatized / allowed everywhere.
      If everywhere in the country was like Portland, Sacramento/L.A., Chicago and NY-NY, we'd all be living the high life! [Extreme Sarcasm]
      Be well, Brother!

      @@blueeyesactual Yea, I think the terrorists kinda won by giving our gov the power / excuse to regulate things like what / where we can carry and how we can protect ourselves. Good 'Ol Uncle Sam, never misses an opportunity to impose more restrictions and grab power. Haha.
      I used to always carry a knife in my pocket and always had one in my bag. Nothing fancy or expensive, just some sporting goods store sale items. I might not be able to do fine woodcraft with them, but they open boxes and poke holes in things just fine. haha.
      Yea, now I carry a multi tool and / or a box cutter. I love the Milwaukee Fastback 8-3/4 in. Folding 6-in-1 Utility Knife. On holidays you can find the two pack (the extra one doesn't have the screwdriver part) on sale for the same price as just the Fastback. It's cool and I've gotten used to it, but I really do miss carrying a good'ish knife.
      Yea, one day I too hope us good guys have the same Constitutional rights to carry what we want as the criminals do! haha.
      Looking forward to your next video, brother Dragon!

      @TheCartoons4you The Boker USB? Dude, GREAT knife. I have 2. The "Gen 2" USB is coming out shortly, gonna have a redesigned thumb ramp for deploying it, and an integrated pocket clip. Absolutely will be buying 2 more, even though I shouldn't.
      Arguably one of my favorite OTF knives, and can say with full emphasis, if you can afford one, send it.
      Edit: said "Integrated pocket knife." Not pocket clip, rofl.

    Nice knife. Great video. How about the black surface of knife? How long will it last? Any thoughts?

    • @blueeyesactual
      @blueeyesactual  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Maverick1791 Well thank you, for sure a dream knife to own!
      I believe it's a DLC coating, in my experience it's quite durable (assuming it's the same DLC process they use for all of their knives) and I have got quite a bit of use before it even begins to pickup scratches or starts having any sort of wear on the blade that isn't the edge.
      The distressed gray Troodon I showed in the intro of this video is one of my main EDC knives and it's going on 6 years old [Feb 2025] and it also has that DLC coating; it looks essentially brand new, even with quite regular use. I believe on the channel X-Ring or xring on TH-cam has put them through aluminum trashcan lids and they hold up, for sure hard use but retain their good looks; not forever and it'll eventually scratch but it's a testament to their durability!
      Hope this answered your question! Sorry it's a bit long.

    Does yours make a slight rattle when open due to the blade play in it? I bought mine through Microtech at Blade Show 24’ and it’s my first large OTF. I’ve only ever been used to the ultra tech.

    • @blueeyesactual
      @blueeyesactual  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @JoeDeGuidopastorforchrist Yeah if I give it a little shake it makes some noise. Not a ton of blade play though. Would probably be measured on a thousandths gauge. I actually never noticed that before on any other MTs, is this a new thing with this generation? This is my first Scarab.

      Same. I contacted Microtech and they want me to send it in just to look at it but it’s not malfunctioning and it deploys flawlessly. I was just curious. I also have OCD. I love this knife though. Thanks for the reply.

      @@JoeDeGuidopastorforchrist No problem at all! If you do end up sending it in, let me know, because if that's fixable, or if it's somehow out of spec, would absolutely like to address it.
      Only had it for just 3 weeks as of Saturday, hadn't even noticed it. Wonder if the other big blades like the Combat Troodon and whatnot do this. Very keen observation, gonna do some research!

      @@JoeDeGuidopastorforchrist SMKW is the MECCA for knife guys! I have only been once (spent WAY too much, ironically got a butter dish there that is great) and it was hard to leave, 3 1/2 hours and barely saw everything.
      So pissed I missed BS Atlanta again, going next year 100% come hell or high water!
      And thank you! Would for sure appreciate that! I've been pining after this Scarab since 2009 watching Nutnfancy and drolling over it, so I get it, and especially for this price point you want it to be perfect.
