In this segment we go over the ins and outs and all of the details of the 2009 - 2018 4th generation Ram 1500 Kit. We cover the install of both series of exhausts, The progressive series as well as The Competitor series. Offering any tips we can to help facilitate the install. @@mackharris6536 not like stupid loud. It’s got a rumble not like a crackel like some old shit box that’s straight pipe. But you can hear it probably 1/4 mile down the road driving normal. If you put it to the floor boards you can hear it half mile away or more.

Just installed "The Competition Series" CR1005 muffler on my 2021 Ram Warlock 5.7 Hemi. One thing I did was set the two mufflers side by side and notch the Carven muffler on the inlet and outlet pipes just like the stock muffler. This gave the welded pins on the factory inlet and outlet pipes a place to index so the pipes slide all the way in. Came out perfect and my tips were almost perfectly lined up, very minor adjustment on one side only. I had just purchased and installed the progressive muffler and black tips. Let me tell you this is the most simple yet the best setup I have ever installed. I am extremely happy with this, the exhaust tone will never get old, especially on cold starts and going thru tunnels. And by the way here in Pittsburgh, PA we have a lot of tunnels. It's extremely loud when I want it to be and super quiet when I don't want it to. I will never purchased one of those full cat back exhaust systems again. I couldn't believe the incredible sound I got out of this setup with just a muffler and tip swap(no I didn't delete the resonators, I don't have to). Great job Carven. Couldn't believe that I never heard of you guys until I did a search for exhaust systems for 2018 Ram 1500 w/5.7L HEMI on youtube, you guys make a great product and its built here in the states. Keep up the great work.

i just had a shop do a single out muffler delete and it sounds amazing. spent no more than $300 for install, labor, and a new tip
Big fan of this setup, nice deep sound, surprisingly quiet while cruising on the highway. Too bad my carven sticker was all folded and creased or I may of actually slapped it on my truck to stop all the questions at the gas station haha.

I just love the deep tone. One of my favorite exhaust systems. I never heard of carven exhaust til yesterday. But I glad I did cuz Im hooked such an amazing sound.
I own a 2017 Rebel. I am having a hell of a time deciding between the Carmen vs. Aero. Direct fit bolt on kits.
Sounds like my 2020 muffler delete except my muffler delete drones like crazy. I still have all three resonators
I have a muffler delete right now and I love it but looking to put a muffler back on for a more refined tone/sound. What would be similar to that? Competitor or progressive series?
I would Definitely recommend Competitor for a louder sound to what u are used to.

Just had progressive installed. Exactly how I figured. Nice tone but not overwhelming loud. If you get on it it def let's u know. Great sound. Inside cab yes there's a drone but 2 be expected its a performance exhaust. I'd buy the progressive series and 5inch tips again in a heartbeat. Great product that's well made. Props to carven. Good job!

I bought the competitor series with the black tips a couple weeks ago. Still waiting for it to show up but I'm excited to hear how it sounds in person.
What are the details on the test truck? I'm curious on the suspension setup, wheel offset and tire size. Love the look and would like to do something similar on my truck.

How is the cab noise around 60 mph? Running a flowmaster outlaw series and it is difficult to have a conversation.
Were those installs with the resonaters still intact?
Yes resonators were not removed.

YES! great question. if you have a 2019-2020 RAM 1500 Classic our 2009-2018 RAM 1500 Kit will bolt perfectly on your truck.
Great product, either I missed a few steps but i removed mine backwards. I would say loosen and remove tailpipes first, then remove oem exhaust. Either way I got to it and it’s perfect. Although I ran into a small issue 2019 classic. The tailpipes stock out a bit, both sides evenly. It came to my attention that there’s two buds/nipples on the tailpipes that don’t let me push them in any further.
Looks like I’ll have to dremel those pieces to insert more.

How’s the highway drone? Cruising at 70 mph or so. I’ve got a family and a wife that can’t stand drone.
You can see it in the video we had no ac running no music running and was no drone. You said you have a wife and kids I say you go with the progressive series that would be the best exhaust kit for you.

Cold drone on the competitor is about 7/10 at freeway speed, IMO. Better as it warms up though. Seems to be between 1600 and 2100 rpm. I'd agree with the carven guy, the progressive is probably better for the family. For reference, I have a 2015 Ram 1500 4x4 and purchased the competitor direct fit and 5" black ceramic tips. I think it sounds mean, generally speaking, and that's what I was going for.
Wish the system was a entire delete cat back 3 or 3.5 inch system to 5 inch or 6 inch tips....

I have a 2016 1500 hemi sport crew cab with the 392 gears and I recently installed the progressive with 5” tips. While I love the exterior sound and the interior sound while accelerating, the interior drone while cruising with my foot lightly on the pedal to maintain a consistent speed is way too much…almost unbearable. I’ve got to find a way to deaden the drone or I’m going to have to find a different muffler. Love the tips.
Did you remove your rear Resonator?

So I have a 2019 ram 1500 classic SLT. I’ve only got the single side exhaust. Would I need to order an after market dual exhaust set up separately and a bumper with the cut outs for the dual exhaust?
Yes, if you want to run our exhaust unfortunately it will not fit direct this will be a full custom exhaust you will be doing now if you want to just keep everything the way it is you can just go with the muffler itself. so for you all you'd need is one muffler now depending on if you want it aggressive or not youd ned to see if you have a v6 if its a v6 go with a 2.50" TR muffler if its a v8 go with a 3.00" muffler R or TR

There is a little round piece of metal that looks like a bottom on my 2018 ram rear pipes..it stops the pipe going on further..do I remove this button peice for it to slide on all the way

Somebody help me out here.. I have been trying to decide between the progressive and the competitor for a couple of months now. I am ultimately afraid of either the progressive being too quiet, or the competitor being too loud. I love the low, deep rumble of the progressive but I don’t want it to be super quiet and sound like it has no guts
Yeah at this point its what best fits your truck and what sound you are looking for everyone that goes with the progressives states they wished they went with the competitor.

I put on a muffler delete on my 23 Ram. Cut the muffler in back before the Y. Bolted in front. Sounds great.
It does not fit the 19-23 Ram. They have a single exit pipe.

Yes on initial start up
If it leaks all day something is loose.

Not sure but word on the street is we have the loudest mufflers.
I never heard of or ever seen a grounding wire on an exhaust.

We have not done a dyne on it yet but from other customers they all said it did.

Is the progressive louder than the flowmaster 40 aeries ?
Unfortunately that is a question we cannot answer, Im sure seraching on youtube will help.
It's like a 40 and 44 but I think it's the mds that keeps it kinda louder with drone.....the other is like a 10 or cherry bomb extreme but if you run just a little bit larger pipe it will change tone
Stay away from Flowmaster if you're in the Salt belt. Carven uses 304ss which is superior 👌
