One point to be mentioned here in 1975 in Australia West Indies was tamed by Lilly- Thompson in 6 test series , the result was 5-1 in favour of australia.viv was elevated to opening position, accumulated some 50s as I can remember from teen age memory.I mention this because true fast bowling matters to every great batsmanship with it's lethal unrestricted bouncers,sporting pitches conducive to fast bowling and those fiersome bowling faced without helmate by batsmen of that era. That version of cricket is now totally transformed into an entertainment reaping high revenue amassed for all concerned entities.So greatness of batsmanship of Sunil gavaskar, gundappa viswanath, Viv Richards ought not to be gauged by parameters of present version of cricket.
