A quick update regarding the release date of the Dukes - Due to the delay of SU15 from Asobo/Microsoft we are also going to need to delay the release of the Dukes unfortunately. Best laid plans and all that. You can read more about the delay and the reasoning here: www.justflight.com/articles/black-square-dukes-development-update-april-2024 So our apologies, we hope to get things moving again just as soon as possible but as things stand we're reliant on news and a firm release date for SU15. Thanks for your patience.
FINALLY a true machine simulated to absolute perfection build for engineers and electricians! So many people get bored by just role-playing pilot and flying through the skies with nothing to do and to check up there for hours because nothing deep and technical is really simulated in all the other planes - and therefore nothing can go wrong and nothing has consequences or damages an engine or other components. There are even psychologically rather interesting forum threads about this phenomenon when simming succumbs to let the autopilot fly for 15 hours and in the meantime leave the computer desk to go for a walk go shopping and spend time with the family and go to sleep. Because why even bothering to check anything inside the cockpit it is 100% foreseeable that nothing ever will happen in all flights, every single flight will always be the same no matter if it´s -45°C in the Arctic circle or over a desert area, every engine start is the same, no component ever will fail, nothing ever matters not even machine parts red-lining for hours will ever fail, nothing ever happens..... This is simply because all the deeper systems are never simulated in other airplanes, barely more than in arcade flying game like Ace Combat is (from a technical point of view) going on there under the nuts and bolts of the engine covers in most planes. But here we get a fully simulated airplane with all machine components fully simulated to the core. Every electric circuit cylinder or turbine stage is showcased on that EFB and we get hundreds of possible failures. All parameters and temperatures in the cockpit constantly need to be checked carefully - this attention to detail keeps every flight always extremely interesting and fascinating, and brings back the challenge and thrill and the feeling of really controlling and monitoring such a complex machine. I absolutely adore Black Square because it is the saviour of GA-flying :) I never even cared about GA-flying until Black Square came along with the wonderful Baron and Bonanza which was the first time ever a GA-machine was really brought to life and got made interesting challenging and realistic. But the Duke is absolute next level and the most sophisticated airplane ever simulated! Pure awesomeness, thank you so much for this HotStart Challenger quality contribution to MSFS!
I agreee with you fully. Study level is not about random failures it's about abplane being fully immersed and connected with its environment. Or in easy terms: If I fuck up, I want to have consequences!
Whoever designed and coded those tablet UIs deserves a raise! Those are the most beautiful interfaces I've seen in the sim! Asobo could learn a thing or two from those UIs lol
You guys are really putting A2A on their toes. I’m a big fan of both and gotta say black square is the real breath of fresh air in flight simming. Really glad to have both of your companies around
Holy cow, we now have an A2A twin piston and twin turboprop! Black Square is out of this world! As a real world student pilot I'm obliged to purchase this for trainning purposes!
not so fast, A2A planes flies beautifully, like the real deal. We need to see how this one does. Remember how twitchy the smaller Pipers from JF were? So yeah.
Everything is looking fantastic. If it's in the same league in terms of flight dynamics as the Comanche and the Da42 then I'm totally getting this Duke.
you know the detail is off the charts when the reciprocating/turbine infographics have the correct colours of blue for AVGAS and yellow for JET-A, would have been so simple to just use one colour for fuel across both...
Per usual the more video I watch on the new simulations you've brought on for your newest plane the more I want it. I wasn't even mildly interested in the dukes when announced. I have to experience them now!
Thanks for this video full of information! Maybe be a bit overwhelming for me, but I plan to come back to it to fully grasp this tutorial and assimilate everything Additionally, I appreciate the attention to detail, especially the sounds!
Thanks for the praise. Appreciate they could be a bit overwhelming to begin with, there are plenty more to come, but at least they'll always be here at your disposal as and when you want to delve in and check things out.
It is, and will continue to be, this isn't out yet and A2A has set that bar ~very high. The only thing that A2A hasn't done is make a twin GA with a turbocharger. They have made turbines and turboprops for the USAF though.
I now realise how 'poorly modelled' the RealAir version was for FSX ;) Well, it was great, but this is something else. Hoping for a decent flight model and as much persistence as possible - or at least some options for the user to choose their own preferences in that regard. Is Black Square still just a one-man team for the core elements? Incredible.
So, I suppose that packet of chewing gum I left under the seat in the early 80s has also been modelled? Think I need to take the 310R for a flight. It’s not gonna get much use once these release…
Nah, pretty commonly discussed. It likes to just plunk down... you need a ton of power on final with flaps and gear out. Not realistic to the real airplane where you need some power. Believe me, I am running all honeycomb, good PC, VR... have probably 1700 hours in the sim, and I fly small airplanes IRL@@RobKohinoor
How is the most promising and fascinating airplane that was ever made, doing? We finally have a date for SU15 (30th of April) does that mean we get His Highness The Duke of Blacksquare a few days later? :) Never before was I so close of owning my own airplane, these Dukes will be so realistic there is no difference anymore between flying the real thing or the Black Square simulation except feeling the g-forces during turns and turbulences. This has to be one of the most advanced OTT features an aircraft has ever had. Amazing work!! This is on top of my wishlist. How does the FOD actually work? Because MSFS doesn't have visible particles, so it must be built on with the aircraft?
I suspect it may know which surface type you are on (tarmac, grass, gravel), so then it's just a function of prop parameters (and maybe wind speed & direction) as to how much you'll ingest. Using typical values based on real world data to simulate risk of damage over time.
Graphical systems displays is one thing but the real proof will be in how it flies. You can have all the shiny chrome you want but if it doesn't fly right, it's just a hangar queen.
I guess nope ... since the beta test started few week ago, should be able to run even without the last sim update, and in the official msfs forum, the day of 8th of april isn't debated that much by SinewyDolphin74 quote : Quick update - the tutorial videos will start appearing next week on the Just Flight TH-cam channel. A very small tidbit: when the fuel levers are moved the combustion of the fuel is instantaneous in this vid, in real life it rarely is, it can take between an instant to 2 seconds. Disclaimer: Never been in a Duke but have started other PT6 engines so if I'm wrong please disregard.
He was not trying to start the engine in that sequence. He was merely demonstrating the fact that the props cannot spin fast enough for a start, due to aerodynamic forces. Whether the engine 'popped' into life or not was irrelevent for that demo.
Hey guys. I have the Turbo Duke from Black Square and I have the problem that I can't build up any speed when I accelerate on the runway for take-off. I push the throttle to 100%, but the engines don't rev up, which is also audible, and I only roll down the runway at a very low speed. Both blue propeller levers are at 100% power and the fuel condition levers (red) are at high idle. Both starter switches are on GEN and the fuel pumps are off. Can someone please solve the problem? I don't understand the TH-cam checklist videos either 😒
No problem but to help you, you need to contact our support team. They will assist and if required they'll get in touch with the dev at Black Square. Here's the link to the support page. Hope you get this sorted: www.justflight.com/support
While I really appreciate the effort that's gone into creating the engine model visualizer in this and the Commanche, I personally don't use them as I find them immersion breaking and unrealistic. You have put an enormous effort into detailed physics modelling of the engine, I personally would prefer detailed training/information on how to detect eg thick oil, fouled plugs, fuel at pressure, vapor lock etc etc using sounds and aircraft instruments. And then only refer to the visualiser to confirm my "real world" diagnosis.
When it's ready is the short answer. Xbox is proving a headache for us currently especially the S series. Not great when it comes to running highly detailed Flight Sim add-ons. We are working on it but can't give any timescales on this just yet, unfortunately Daniel.
Honestly would like to see a noob start button for me tbh. Sometimes i just want to enjoy the beauty and flying rather than the engineering side of it. But will probably get shouted down on this comment.
On the contrary, there's something to be said for that approach. As flight sims have become more realistic, I try to carry out every flight to the fullest, but the effect is that I spend less time with the sim, because I now need a 1-2 hour window just to get a short 30-min GA flight in, what with all the physical control setup, pre-flight, warm-up and so on. Plus a little flight planning before all that. Satisfying, but sometimes it's worth flying the sim without a care or rules :)
@@bird.9346Of course, including the default aircraft. But I wanted to back up the original commenter (who expected to get jumped on) that there's nothing wrong with wanting a complex aircraft, but having the option for a quick start for when you don't have the mood or time :)
@@Mustang242Sqn And I agree. It should be perfectly acceptable to expect a simulated aircraft, or a real aircraft, for that matter, to complete a failure-free flight. Lately, sim aircraft developers seem to have a fetish for "failures", purportedly to give simmers, most of whom have no real aircraft experience, exposure to how airplanes can "fail", in all the splendorous and/or catastrophic ways. For people who are gluttons for punishment, that's fine - let 'em have at it. But having owned and maintained two different airplanes I soon learned that IRL, maintenance can mean months of downtime and many thousands of dollars in expense - not a simple click of the mouse. It's an unpleasant memory I don't need when I'm simming. I turn it all off.
@@Racklefratz thanks for an interesting reply, but I'm actually in the other camp. I want the 'realism', including the failure risks, because it gives me a reason to 'take it seriously'. Flying the sim without those risks makes it less interesting (for me), as I know nothing will ever happen (like driving a racing sim with no crash damage, or any other game with invincibility). I have not had the opportunities you have had, so appreciate your view differs and rightfully so. I'm at a point in life where I could consider learning to fly, but it's a hugely expensive 'hobby' and would impact my family, so it shall likely remain a dream that I fulfil via MSFS. In VR, it's leaps and bounds ahead of all the sims I've flown the last 25 years or so, and will only get better! :)

why not recreate the Anologue C208 Caravan with this master piece engine sound? This Beechbracft Duke gives you the real feelings NOT that analogue c208 sounds 😜
Please Fix the Spinners. They don't spin The propeller spinner does not spin after the engine is on. It becomes a static texture. I fly VR exclusively and this brakes the immersion.
@@JohnConservative Looks fine to me: th-cam.com/video/lu5qkpQQuuM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BmA03Y5GGJH_5Jef&t=322 You shouldn't be able to see a chrome spinner moving irl if it is installed correctly and the snout of the crank is true.

Please Fix the Spinners. They don't spin
The propeller spinner does not spin after the engine is on. It becomes a static texture. I fly VR exclusively and this brakes the immersion.
I think it is better this way, as the simulator isn’t that good in rendering fast spinning objects.
@@Jannik_Stein they could have an option to turn off or on. Static It is bad when someone has good hardware to handle it.

You shouldn't be able to see a chrome spinner moving irl if it is installed correctly and the snout of the crank is true.
IRL you can't perceive that spinner moving whatsoever. They're not going to make it all gamey just for VR users, after they've made everything else this realistic.
