Stupid question: Which time of year do you get more polar bears ? I'm Australian living in humid tropics, so I find this interesting. In my location, we've got snakes, jellyfish, sharks, and Crocs to worry about, but if you respect the area and don't be stupid, you're completely safe.

Hi! I have some legit questions. 1) Does the darkness throw off your routine or sleeping schedule? 2) Do you have to take a vitamin C supplement? And lastly, 3) Do night time mischief animals cause trouble all day during the 2 months of darkness?
@@BrittanyCope It can definitely throw off your sleep to a degree. But since the year consists of either dark all the time or light all the time, you can't really follow the daylight too much. So I just follow the clock. As for vitamins, sometimes I take a multivitamin and sometimes only vitamin D 😊

I grew up in Alaska. At least we know the Earth is round. It is the exact opposite in the south like Antarctica. Our summers are their winters, our winters are their summers of light 24/7 and vice versa.
My dad once worked there in Svalbard, and he told me the no sunrise was a headache for him, cu'z he wasn't used to not seeing the sun for a day. But eventually, he started getting used to it, and he enjoyed it there
Absolutely could, I’d struggle more with midnight sun! I get fed up of summer so quickly. I do enjoy the sun and love a holiday but I’d much rather live in a country that’s like this, just seems so magical. My favourite time of year is winter time. I am on Scotland though so we don’t get a lot of snow but a lot of rain and wind which I love getting home and putting on my candles pjs and a movie ❤ Svalbard I think I’d love to visit if I ever get the chance. Night owl heaven. Maybe there’s a connection with people that were born at night to like the night best. I’m the most energetic at night and when the morning comes I fall asleep. Been this way since I was a kid. It’s rough tho when you’re like this and are from the sunny south.
I never sleep fully at night and is productive when sunlight isn't out ever since entering middle school. I'm 24 now, couple time zone differ from 6th grade me, and still the same. I would love to try live in this environment and see how it goes.

I would love it! However, this has nothing to do with a tilt. The sun is on it's outer ring route, which is so far from the center of earth, or the inner ring route, that anything that's at the center or around the center, gets literally no light! Earth doesn't tilt or move, period!
But do you have some beautiful nights lit by full moons? When the sun disappears for months in the arctic winter, full moons are at their brightest. They are high in the sky and stay up for many hours. This occurs because a full moon is opposite the sun, so if the earth’s axis is tilted away from the sun, it is tilted towards a full moon.

I would love it if I was retired and didn't have to work. I live in Canada and we have shorter days in the winter (not like you). I hate waking up at 5am and having to work outside for 12 hrs this time of year. I absolutely love winter on my days off though.

When I moved to Sweeden I found nightfall at 3 pm strangely depressing. But I got used to it. However, shining sun at 10pm still goes on my nerves.
