At 65 years old, I've been watching Richard for at least 4 decades and always loved him. This video shows how seriously kind Richard is, and we rarely have seen him serious. Rest in Peace dear Richard - hysterical smart man. Marc is outstanding as well. Thoroughly loved this discussion. Thanks!!!
Rest in peace, legend. I enjoyed this six months ago and I'll enjoy it again now. Condolences to your wife, family, friends and fans alike. Was hoping you'd get to be on WTF again soon. :(
Watching this went straight to my heart and made me cry. Rest in Peace to a great legend, Richard Lewis. And thanks to Marc Maron for his uncanny ability to bring out the best in people in conversation.
Interviewed Richard Lewis for my newspaper in Canada about 15 years ago. Best interview of 25 years in journalism. Just a funny, kind, thoughful man. I was sick at home with the flu, so he called me there while out shopping. It was supposed to be a half-hour interview and we talked for nearly three hours, basically trading schtick. Gave me a lot of confidence that I could hang in a funny conversation, because I'm autistic and was still figuring that stuff out.
Looks good here shows you how fast life goes and precious RIP 🪦 Richard blewis one of the best comedians and loved his style , as love comedian he was special , he’s was special all around
Rip Richard 🙏🏻U are a Legend ! And will be remembered as such 😂 U stood out from all the rest , Now U can hang with all the other greats; RobinWilliams, Winters, Lenny , Carlin &&&&& Love you & sad to c U go 🤡🙏🏻🙌🏻❣️💙🩵
It was not so long time ago I saw "Curb" for the first time here in Sweden and Richard Lewis became quickly my favorite. He had this natural selfdistanced and dark humor I loved so. I was really sad the other day when I saw in the newspapers that he is no longer with us. But all the others "up there in heaven" will have great laughs now when Richard have joined them all, including my brother who passed away the 29 of January this year. Hopefully he will meet Richard Lewis and have a laugh with this great comedian, who gave so much from within himself to his audience.
Richard is legend. Always loved his standup, and his Letterman and Stern appearances. The Sitcom with Jamie Lee Curtis was delightful. Also he's a Mench, reaching out to try to help Artie Lange. Stay strong Richard, your a comedy gift. Cheers.
Classic Richard! He may be sick, but he is still so GD funny! Love them talking about and 'mildly' doing Rodney. Just always love the best comedians talkin' shop. We've lost, and are losing the best! As a teen I was addicted to Carson, Cavett, and Tom Snyder. I'd be up watching them til 2am every weeknight. So glad to be able to revisit some great old moments via TH-cam. To me, humor is as vital as the air we breathe! Peace.
I was never a big Richard Lewis fan until he died and then I really started watching him and these types of clips. I've come to really like him, he seemed a really genuinely good guy. RIP RL.
Dear Richard, I don't know if you'll be reading this, but if you are, I'd like you to know that the interplay between you and Larry on Curb is one of the funniest things I've ever seen and to do it for over 20 years is just incredible. You're inspirational to me, man. Here in England.
Such a great exchange between these two. Such marvelous stories. I cherish these little capsules of time. So many great comic minds dying recently. It’s nice to have things like this to reflect and still maintain that sense of the person. RIP Lewis.
Brought tears to my eyes. Heartfelt visit between two greats. Keep going, Richard. And Marc, long time listener if WTF podcast. Also, my grandfather and father had Parkinsons. Take care.
This was wonderful. Also imagine Richard Lewis and Marc Maron in conversation at the Dynasty Typewriter. This is the type of stuff that makes me think I should move continents.
really stoked to have come across this Channel. Richard Lewis has been one of my favorites since "I'm Exhausted". Great stand up, great off the cuff in being interviewed, and it seems a damn good interviewer. more please.
Peace & love from Atlanta. Big fan of you both and really enjoyed the talk. Big thumbs-up to the Dynasty Typewriter idea. Be well & stay strong brother 🌲
The great Richard and Marran , this was sooooo good man I enjoyed this , I’m going to check the rest of these out , I loved Richard on Letterman and Stern absolutely so much FUN , check out Richards movie from late 70s on being a young comic it’s brilliant and a Lewis joke I’ll never forget “ I love the handicapped bathrooms, I put a dresser in the corner it can be an apartment have a stove over here “ hahaha I think of it every time I use it haha
Mr. Maron, someone we’re not too familiar with in our house, but were very moved by his kindness at the close as well as Rich’s thoughts & concern for Bruce’s daughter. New York people, gotta love ‘em. Sincere condolences to the family & friends, he’ll be missed.
Marc is truly one of the Best and Originals of podcasts. If you are a Richard Lewis fan, try listening to Maron's "WTF Podcast" the episode with Richard is fabulous. It's a sit down one on one format conversation format. He has a lot of great people on it from Comics, Actors, Directors, Writers, Musicians and Legends of all kinds. Cheers
I like this idea to kind of, “explore some of the stuff you’re going through if you can turn a corner on it through gratitude or acceptance, let me know.” At 53:30
I grew up in the 80’s loving. And still loving all you guys. I very much miss Bob. And norm. And Phil. And so so many. You are an awesome comic/actor. Stay strong. My father has C. Every day. Just as you say keep going.
Had no idea you had a channel! Saw you at the other cafe in San Francisco in the 80's, being a Jew from London it changed my life! This podcast is the first time I think I have seen you being fully yourself and it is heartwarming. Thank you.
God bless ya Rich. For a 76 year-old you look amazing - even with Parkinson's. And you got all your marbles so you can still be one crazy funny bastard! Love you too Maron.
Just want to say thank you, Richard, for your beautiful comidic relief. You are tops, so talented and unafraid. True and the real thing. Made us all laugh. that's what matters.
What a Top Shelf interview. Richard and Marc are in a great lineage that goes from Lenny Bruce down to these current torch bearers. Great podcast. I wish Marc would give in to doing his podcast with video.
Really like marc maron these days. My favourite interview he's ever done is with Norm macdonald. This one comes next, even though it's an informal chat among friends. Now I'm going to deep dive everything Richard Lewis.
If Marc said it was okay, I'd spend whatever it takes of my own money, travel to his place, and get that fucking mic cable organized for him. It would be my pleasure.
ha, now i can say that Dangerfield was good----you both brought me to that opposite conclusion.-----i enjoy these Lewis video casts because it is 2 people reminiscing and i do that all the time with MY friends
