I really liked the phrasing imitation of the vocal on the guitar and the way you executed it. Things like this are priceless because they remind the guitarist about the importance of the song and that guitar solos should (to some degree at least) borrow from the singer to enhance the song. Great lesson.
this is probably one of the best guitar lessons I have seen for a blues guitar solo. Not only do you break the solo down in a manageable format you give some phrasing techniques to enhance the performance. Well done!!!
I can't believe there's not one solid step by step break down of this solo anywhere on you tube.. I think it's the first solo I've ever looked for and not found a really good lesson for such a popular solo. Very strange I would have thought someone would have really broken down this solo by now
Wow brother thanks for the post! I can pick out of that solo but it really helps when someone else explains it.... because you miss stuff and you can add a lot of stuff as well. Much appreciated.
At retirement age and tryin to play guitar,.. after tabbing your note instruction i had what i needed to get me to do an improv (but kept the KWS feel) on this tune with some correct segments..thanx so much didnt think i could pull it off but came out pretty good keep up the great work us old newbies need it...
Nice breakdown. I appreciated the phrasing section very much. Many people don't play what they sing or what great musicians sing, and it is an awesome key to phrasing. It really helps you get the nuances "between the frets". Jimi's Voodoo Child is a great example of playing what you sing. I use old jazz and blues song singing to practice guitar solo phrasing, you can really learn a lot from it.
Hey..I got some good advice from proflash but it was deleted..Could you repost? Im trying to learn all I can.. I cant seem to make this work on std tuning..Thanks a million
Dude u do a great job teaching this is a fucking awesome lesson u get mad props for putting it up! I'm not gonna lie I stopes checking you channel out because u were puttin up realyshit videos and just wasn't interested but now uv given me hope that this channel does completely suck anymore thanks again bro
love the lesson.. but PLEASE add tabs.. I can't for the life of me see where your darn fingers are and you're calling out strings and frets.. my dumb ass had to sit there and count and think for a second then you're already like 3 steps ahead...

Thanks for just saying the name of the note instead of that 15 down to12 stuff.
The tuning is standard.
I HAVE THE SAME EXACT GUITAR

It's standard tuning - it's not a half-step down!
