    Nice to hear about Vandy today. Back in the olden days of the 1970's for 3 of my 4 years, I lived in Cole and Tolman with no air conditioning. I heard that there is A/C now.

    I love how you made chapters for this video! It's very helpful for understanding what is where! Vanderbilt is really interesting, and I'm planning on making it one of the universities that I apply to. I'm planning to tour it also. Do you think they have a spectacular business program? Please reply to this comment. Thanks!

    Hey girl, first of all you're definitely made for a TH-cam channel and I hope you keep humble and genuine and don't lose yourself in future fame because I can just tell you're about to be a big hit, so keep it up! Glad to hear about your major in leadership because you'll easily climb up a career ladder that you choose. You should really look into a broadcasting opportunities at the school because I can see you as a future television host.
    You mentioned Athletics not being anything and students just attend tailgating parties and not the actual games.... how do you think Vanderbilt can improve their fan base in sports? My family has been looking at a future career in athletics, so I'd really love your opinion or ideas on it. I'd certainly LOVE for you to make a video to share on here, almost like a proposal for how to create a better fan base environment during sporting events at Vandy. You should do an opinion episode where you phone or skype in fellow students and get their opinion. Almost like an on the air radio show. Anyways, sorry this post became long... I'm truly and genuinely rooting for you!!!!

      Hello!! Thank you so much for your kind words, that truly means a lot!!❤️ I honestly haven’t put much thought into what Vandy can do about sports - def something I’ll be thinking about more! Love your ideas!!

    Hiii Jackie! May I ask about the overall diversity on campus? I have watched several videos about Vandy on TH-cam and I am glad together to know some good things about it. However, I did hear that the level of inclusiveness on campus is not that satisfying even given the diversity of the student body (seems like there is a segregation of ethnical groups). And such phenomena rlly just make me hesitant about whether to apply to Vandy or not. I would really love to hear your opinion on it!

    I just got an email from Vanderbilt to attend and online interest session and thought it was some lame school that’s trying to get a lot of students to attend. But thanks to your video ik it’s a pretty great school. Luckily it has a major I’m interested in and maybe I’ll apply.

      @JackieRhoads  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aww I’m so glad they’re helpful! Do you mean parking long-term (like bringing a car and having it for the semester)? The cost of doing this is actually pretty expensive but there are different options/locations that have different prices

    Do you know what transfer life is like? How that would be for sorority's recruitment and social life? Planning on transferring for my Junior year. Would love to hear your POV!

      vandy is super welcoming to transfers and doesn’t leave them in the dust like other schools! can’t speak on the sorority part but i know so many transfers and they’ve loved it

    i just subbed!!! this might be a weird question, but i lived in alabama and other states in the south when i was younger and everyone was racist and overall not nice to poc. is it this way at vanderbilt too? i really like the school, and want to go somewhere where it's diverse and everyone feels comfortable

    • @JackieRhoads
      @JackieRhoads  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hi!! Thank you for subbing!❤️ in my experience, Vanderbilt is a welcoming community where most students (or at least the ones I surround myself with) want to learn from each other’s diverse experiences and make an effort to educate themselves. I know that many people have different experiences, and I definitely can’t speak on behalf of poc at vandy, but vanderbilt does work hard to create a safe and diverse community where all students feel comfortable. I hope that helps!

    i'm a committed ed2 student! i was reading online though and found quite a few comments that Vanderbilt is pretty segregated based on race + income level :( if you put yourself in the perspective of a minority student, do you feel like this comment is true??

      Are you going to MOSAIC this weekend?

    • @alli7447
      @alli7447 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it’s what you make of it. obviously if you try to go join a predominantly white sorority or frat that is known to be racist, you’ll face racism. but vandy is very community forward and you will find people who support you. just be yourself and don’t force yourself into things that aren’t you :)

    If I'm interested in Vanderbilt but not in Greek life, would I still be able to have a social life? Would I feel excluded?

    • @alli7447
      @alli7447 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i wasn’t in greek life and you will definitely still have a social life. the parties and stuff get tiring after freshman year and going to apartment/suite parties with your friends is just as fun and everyone does it. also anyone can get into tailgates (my favorite part) so you won’t miss out!

    Hi Jackie, this is Kris Peng, a Chinese sophomore student at Vanderbilt. I really love this video! I also have a channel aiming to promote our school in China. It's on Bilibili, a platform similar to TH-cam but for Chinese. Do you mind if I upload your video there? I will credit your video and will provide the link to the original video in the description. I believe this video would be so helpful for new Chinese students.
