Super happy! I was just playing around with im1 recently, wishing I could use it in Logic Pro, since I mostly use that now instead of gadget (ironically, I use the actual gadget instruments a lot, esp Chiang Mai). Saw this and immediately got out the iPad pro, saw there was an update for iM1, updated it, loaded up one of my test projects in Logic Pro, and added an iM1 track with a nice lush pad. Threw a chroma verb on it to make it even lusher. Hopefully their other apps will be following along soon.
The IAP is a must. Today I also imported SysEX. It’s more cards I want tho. The SysEX files are configurations of the cards. So cards is what I would like.

I’m certain that they will; they are a great bunch, and take pretty good care of their customers! That’s why I’ve had 7 of their hardware pieces in my arsenal since ‘88, and just about all of their apps (no Gorillas…🤣)! Wow though, they made us wait for it didn’t they?! I literally gave up on Korg on account of their apparent disinterest in Audio Units. But, this is an exceptional instrument, and the big surprise is the pricing of the ‘cards’ is not what it previously was, in any event paying just 6/15 more for the entire galaxy of ‘cards/soundpatches’ is a surprise, so it was worth it. I have no idea if it’s a special for the launch of the AUv3, to make sure it’s a splash. Investigating now, substituting some iM1 audio unit instances, for whatever synths I’ve previously used in some tracks, looking forward to seeing how this sounds. Great update review, I will rummage in some of your archives, to get a bit more deeply into this version of the icon. Take care all.
Great video Doug, you are right saying there is no need to program this synth, there are more than enough perfectly brilliant presets in iM1, hopefully iwavestation goes AUv3 too 🙏
Apologies for second-commenting, I have asked ‘Hypersynth’ if they have a way to make available their famous Hcard selection of extra patches for the M1 and Wavestation, to our iOS/iPadOS devices. You will know Doug this came as a little box that plugged in, to the hardware synths. It might have covered an awful lot of patches, including the originals I think, so they were all in the one ‘card’ or at least that’s how it looked to the M1 physical synthesiser. Anyway, I am waiting for a reply. You’ve covered on your channel the after-market 3rd party patches for other synths from people like Cymatic, so it’s worth me mentioning this enquiry. I told them there’s a lot more interest now Korg have invested in Audio Unit facilities. Take care all, I will report back if I get a response.
Maybe silly question but can you use the iM1 if you connect the MODX or Roland Fantom with the iPad and set it up as midi or how does that work? Would be happy if someone has some info on that? Would love to sequence it from my board into my MPC
Mine didnt update automatically for some reason, had to remove and reinstall for it to show up in auv, but hell yeah man....first the gadget 2 drops and now this. Feel bad for ignoring my ipad for awhile since getting a steam deck and meta quest 3, This might be the kick up the arse I need.
The only sad thing is that the new iPhone version of this is asking for payment on the App Store even though I own iM1 for iPad and the IAP’s. I have written to Korg to ask if this is right, which I’m sure it isn’t. Never paid twice for a Korg app before.
I think the aum only remembers what app you enter.. and not the patch inside the im1 app..because if you reboot the save patch in aum.. it will be gone also .. please help me how to fix this..
When you select a patch in iM1 you are just auditioning that sound, to load that patch you need to double tap it. Then AUM should be able to recall the patch👍😊

@@mk_mlt It is universal, you won’t get charged. It’s just the App Store bug where it looks like you’ll be charged but actually won’t. I already owned it on iPad and installed it fine (the bug didn’t appear for me, I just got the cloud icon)
I’m very happy! Just updated iM1 for AuV3. Already made an ambient jam in Logic Pro using nothing but the iM1. This day is getting better and better.
The M1 (hardware) was a legend. 😎 The software version made it affordable to everyone and it's still maintained like this great update shows.

You need to tap on the sound name twice in order to load it in fact, otherwise it just loads it temporarily and keeps the sound already loaded 😊

They have already officially mentioned they were in a small comment among the Gadget AU update notes… just a matter of time.
Surely Korg will make all of their instruments AUv3 over the coming months and a good thing too!

It’s great having the combi mode available as that is missing in the Gadget version. It’s not too difficult to program your own sounds too with it.

This was a major code rewrite for Korg. I am glad they did it though. This is Gold. Now I won't be hesitant to buy their other stuff.

Korg will get a ton of money updating their synths to auv3
They are pretty late with AuV3...but good stuff that they are it doing now.
True, but it’s good to know that now one can eventually load them into AUM or Cubasis.
Would be nice to see what you can do with iM1 as an auv3 unit instead of simply browsing presets.

That’s just an App Store glitch. You won’t be charged, it’s universal
Will get the promotional 3000 sounds if you buy this? Or need to buy the sound packs also?
You do get a lot of sounds when you buy it, there is an IAP for the extra cards, I think it’s around £2.99.

Hi.. I purchased this.. and save some preset and combi.. to aum.. and when i opened the aum the patches are gone..
