get that like, good thing Korg didn't rejected this sound to be re-used Got it natively on my MicroKORG XL+ and is as good as this one, hek, even gonna play along right now with this video XD
If you want to know the ultimate secret to playing gypsy woman on the korg M1, edit the organ 2 program and set ‘chorus 1’ to off and ‘hall’ to off. Thank me later 😉
Actually, on this cover the chorus is set to off ;). I let the reverb on because on the recording we can hear a bit of reverb ( probably an external unit ). :)
It might sound weird, but please, do you have discord? For some weird reason, I am seeing your comments on my fav videos, and you do amazing ytpmvs with my favorite sources :D thx
@@mjwalters8394 hi ! If you want a tutorial there is one from Synthmania on TH-cam ! ;) this is where I learned it. Just type « gypsy woman korg m1 » and you’ll find it ;)
When you play Gypsy Woman at the top, the synth sounds like a single note, but when you switch to Show Me Love at the bottom, the synth is definitely playing a harmony (5th). So what's going on here? Is there a hidden split point, or am I just not hearing the harmony on the top part?
@@Scripture-Man The korg M1 is a « rompler ». It means that every sounds were sampled. The organ sound that was sampled to create the « organ 2 » program ( which is the sound used in gypsy woman ) was a drawbar organ composed of sine waves in different harmonies. Indeed there is the main harmony, the fifth and the octave. When I’m playing the chords, the harmonies blend together so it’s pretty hard to distinguish them but they’re all there. ;) There is no hidden split point.
That sound... oh my

Brilliantly done. Probably the best cover/demonstration I've seen on TH-cam yet. I come back and replay this video often 👍👍

@@basiledaudet5774 Awesome, thanks for the answer! Really interesting detail, and I bet very few people notice those extra harmonics.
Which one was used on the original tho?
@@naturalmindy that exact same synth ;)
@@naturalmindy it’s the « organ 2 » preset of the korg M1.
This is why i will never sell my M1 😊
May i upload your video to my channel will make sure will add a link to your channel
Little bit too fast but quite good :)
On vst?
I played it on the real korg m1. I also have the vst and it is super cool but it sounds much clearer than the original.

You deliberately got the ShowMeLove melody so wrong and that ruins the video for me
