Take an adjustable wrench and go to your gas meter at the side of your house and take a look at the line. There will be a little valve on the line that goes to the meter. You can turn the valve using the wrench and it will shut off your gas. That way you can reduce your gas consumption, keep Trudeau happy, AND enjoy the -40 weather all at the same time. You had me at lowering income tax. Of ALL the taxes that need reducing, that is the #1 tax that should get lowered. Sales tax? Meh. I can choose to not buy lots of stuff and avoid lots of that tax. Property tax? Well, I suppose its only fair to maintain the infrastructure that keeps my property livable. Capital gains? Eh. I'm not happy about it but I still end up with more money I wouldn't have had otherwise. Income tax? From a job? It's just a kick in the nuts. It takes the wind out of our sails. Makes us wonder what the point is when we put in the effort to earn more, only to get burdened by paying more. You want people to be happier and more productive? Hell, even alleviate some of the mental health crisis? How about letting people keep more of what they struggle and toil to make everyday so it all doesn't feel like a pointless waste of time and effort.
