Proper litter box use is one of the most important things you can teach your
kitten. Going outside the litter box is one of the most commonly cited reasons
for giving up a cat. You can mitigate future problems by starting things off
right. If you adopt your kitten from a litter box trained mother cat, it’s possible
that your kitten will be trained before he or she arrives home. Mother cats
that use litter boxes will start teaching their kittens how to use the litter box
at roughly three-to-four weeks of age. It is really adorable and fascinating how
these cute little animals teach their babies. In this video, a mom cat litter box
trains her little kittens. This cute cat video shows how different kittens learn in
a different way how to use the litter box with the mom cat showing them.
Training a cat or kittens to use the litter box usually isn’t difficult. Cats and
kittens are generally clean by nature and have a natural tendency to bury
their waste. Use these steps to train your cat to start using a litter box.

Place your baby kitten or cat in a clean litter box, one without a cover in a confined area, like a room somewhere in your house. Be sure your cat has plenty of water and some cat food. If your cat ‘goes’ poopy outside of the box, place the poop or waste in the litter box.
Usually, within a day or two of being confined with the litter box, your cat will begin to use the litter box regularly. If the cat still has not used the box within a couple of days, try this. After the cat has eaten its food place the cat in the litter box and then just scratch the surface of the litter a bit with your fingertip.
If it is still a no-go, make sure the litter box is clean. If it has never been used before, clean it with baking soda and fill it with some clean litter. You can also try several types of litter, there are times when a cat will be fine with one brand of litter and turn up its nose at another brand. Also make sure that the litter box is located in a quiet, secluded area.
If nothing seems to work, consult your vet. Occasionally an underlying medical problem can be the cause of a cat’s reluctance to use a litter box.

How old should you start putting them near the litter box
Soon as they can walk,and they stay till they do their business.. .
That was kind of cute considering what it was. I said to myself awww families that poop together, stay together...then I said EWWW Ike. LOL I was just curious how often kittens play in it by accident or step in it. I mean I have seen grown cats in a litter box act like a dog in a sandbox and I was like, THIS CANNOT BE WHAT ALL OF YOU DO! So I had to come investigate. =D
They give birth in their own waste. They all should be dispatched. Disease spreading vermin.

That being said. I had kittens and a momma, and unfortunately I had to rehome them, but this is the sweetest part of taking care of babies like this. There's something so cute about them learning how to use the litterbox, and becoming neat and tidy individuals.
