Our first Christmas week away in the MH was spent here Dec 2021. Site was full but didnt feel crowded, everyone was full of the Christmas spirit, lovely atmosphere. We did several walks from the site the best being Latrigg on Christmas day. Shopping was only a 10 min walk into Keswick with Booth's being a Christmas treat. We rven booked tickets for the Theatre by the Lake, all within walking distance. Snow in the distance in Borrowdale and no flooding. A perfect first Christmas away 😊
Wow is it nearly 5 years since we were there & made this video, yes it's an ideally positioned site, we must return in the future, Thank you for watching
Thank you. Great video. I agree about the wifi in the other club. Mostly rubbish 😂😂 I can feel the tension/excitement about pitch allocation. I never seem to get the good ones.
@@andrew-karens-adventures well done, not easy with a caravan and awning 😒. Going on Sunday and really hope for a sunny one by the lake 🤞. Hugs to both of you 😘
Nice view of my caravan opposite you. Hope my kids were not too noisy. School hols were not quite over. Lovely site. Particularly enjoyed the ferry from Keswick and walk up Catbells. My at the time 3 year old just about managed it in his wellies.
What a lovely location. We feel inspired to go to this site, perhaps in low season. Fabulous views and so close to Derwent Water, beautiful. I totally agree with you about the relatively poor Wi-Fi service with caravan and motorhome club. The outtakes made us laugh!! 😂
Hi Andrew, Great video and some beautiful views - just comes to an abrupt end! We were actually at that camp site last and had a pitch with the lake view too - very nice. I agree the C&MC Club should learn from the competition. Have a good time.
I know I should have done another outro, it had not recorded correctly & was corrupt, never mind as long as you enjoyed the video, yes stunning views it will be on our list for a return visit
10:12 That always puts me off for some reason, I'm so used to pulling onto a CL and not having to even see someone for a few days or when it is time to go home and pay. Still a nice site, more sun and better views than the CC Manesty site but no doubt more expensive.
Regarding your comment about people having to be off the site by 12, not 2.30, how do you know they haven't left a day early ? We do that all the time as we use tents and porches and like to decamp leisurely, not scramble around to be away by 12. Helps to dry the tent off too .
OMG this video is over 4 years old and one of my first arrival videos, it was just a general comment between me and my wife, I was just stating what I saw & it says on the arrival instructions for the site, put it this way with the cost of sites now if I had paid for the pitch I wouldn't be leaving a day early 👍
Great video Andrew, really enjoyed that. Looks a lovely site. We haven’t really explored the lakes yet. Totally agree with you about CAMC WiFi, I too pay the annual fee, very poor in most sites. Thanks for sharing. 👍🚐
Thank you, Really enjoyed our stay there, yes it's a big site, we found it to be fairly quiet & perfect position to walk into Keswick, thank you for watching 👍😁
Hi Graham, do you mean this site or sites in general, we have never used an electric kettle we use an old type whistle kettle either on the gas ring or hot plate on cooker if hooked up to electric, we do use an electric toaster if that helps 👍
@@grahammoss2812 Most of the sites we have stopped on have videos I have a playlist on my channel for site arrivals & another for site tours. Hi Andrew , i know it’s an old vlog but we have been looking at this site and was pleased i found you and karen had done a vid. How did you find your stay and how far from the town is it plz.. Dave.
It's around 10 minutes walk into centre of Keswick Booth's supermarket is near the site, perfect position for Keswick, & Derwent water 👍, it did feel a little crammed in on our appointed pitch as our next door neighbour had kayaks, canoes & sailing dingy, we asked to move to another pitch the following day (advantage of MH) which was more open, with it being C&CC they take you to a pitch if your not happy ask them for another as its harder to move caravan once set up, remember, you are a customer & paying to stay there 👍
lovely sight we stayed there two years ago just don't like where you can't pick your pitch lovely walks around lake area and into Keswick Only downside we had was wife being poorly half the week otherwise beautiful area
@@andrew-karens-adventures brilliant thanks, I've herd read some horror reviews on the area where people camp in tents, what's your view on the area please? I know your in a camper van but you must of had a little walk around, thanks again
@@Woodlandbill less than 10 minute walk to Keswick centre, Booths supermarket 5 minutes away, Derwent water cruises again about 10 minutes walk away to get to Cat bells or lake cruise 👍
@@Woodlandbill there was a family in a tent next to us had all the outdoor stuff, yacht, blow up canoes, bikes, Etc took up quite a lot of space but seemed to have been there for a long time, not sure what else I can say 👍
We turned up there and the place was heaving, motorbikes everywhere and the pitch they gave us for our caravan was surrounded by Luther units with a narrow access and the pitch wasn’t level. It was horrible and we decided we weren’t going to stay.
When we visited it was out of school holidays, we found it quiet with pleasant surroundings, the video I created was for info only, I cannot be blamed for the busy periods when other people visit. I suppose it's the time of year & staycation this year where everyone wants to holiday here due to the travel restrictions
lovely place but when I was there the pitches were ridiculously narrow for a campervan and awning, even worse because they don't let you extend onto the grass apart from 1/2 metre. More than what their job is worth.
Hi, if you have not already been to their other site in Keswick, only 100 yards further up the road, it is much better than this site. This is way too big and noisy for us. The other site is only 55 pitches, doesn’t have a lake view but in my opinion far better.

If you stay on the main road to the next junction ( a roundabout) you come out at the mini roundabout, it saves going through town centre.
Thanks for watching & the directions, I'll remember that for the next time we visit
Have had the 2am knock at the door a few times before we got flooded out. Great video mate
