I’ve been to Gaza years ago. It had beautiful beaches and coastal areas, somewhat like the beaches of southern California with palisades and dunes. Israel unilaterally left Gaza in 2005 and forcibly evicted 9,000 Israelis from 21 settlements in Gaza. They left behind clean modern housing and state of the art agricultural infrastructure; greenhouses, irrigation systems. What did the Gazans do? They set explosives off and destroyed all of it. With the tens of billions of dollars donated to Gaza since 2005 by sympathetic European, Gulf Arab countries and others Gaza could’ve developed a thriving, vibrant and green tourism economy. It could’ve been the Riviera of the eastern Mediterranean, perhaps another Singapore or Dubai. It certainly was a de facto Two State Solution and should've have been a test case for future conciliations between Israel and palestinians. Instead, they took the concrete meant for schools and hospitals and housing and used it to create a giant subterranean terror complex for the benefit of hamas and not even for the Gazans. They took the pipes meant for irrigation and turned them into Qassem rockets. The opposite of Isaiah’s prophecy. They worship death and the dark hopeless future they chose was of their own making. Not anyone else’s as the Gazans voted for Hamas. It didn’t have to be this way. Hopefully when Israel finishes with hamas the Gazans will make better choices for themselves and their children. When showing solidarity with Ukrainians, you don't usually add "and Russians too".
One can support the Jewish people without also saying alongside that he supports the other side too.
One can say he is against antisemetism when he sees antisemitism without also adding "islamophobia" when it is 100 percent irrelevant.
Symmetry creates a false sense of equality and is often used when there is none, it is also often used to downplay antisemetism.
For example: A jewish woman got stabbed?
They will say "We are against crimes against all people, and against antisemetism and islamophobia"
In this case, do you think not labeling it specifically antisemetism makes it better? Or shows you are a more rightous person? Or do you think it creates a false sense of symmetry and downplays the hate crime against her specifically as a jewish woman.
Do you think saying "solidarity with jewish people and muslim people" in response to her stabbing helps her?
