Yeah my electric fuel pumps under my front bumper for easy road side repair but that's probably not the best location haha. I really should just relocate it to the back like you did.

I put my electric fuel pump in line with the mechanical pump. Wired it to plug into the cigarette lighter socket. I can turn it off or on as needed.
Would you have any ideas on how to remove and replace a fuel pump on a 1991 Toyota Corolla Alltrac DXL wagon?
