Love it. Would love more of these hope you don’t mind my saying. Would love to see these as explanation videos as companions to builds. Show us the builds like you have and then go through something like this from that build. Then we get the theory and diagram and see what it looks like
Awesome video, I’ve just realised I need to leave the sbi12 for my house battery in the back of my patrol. 300ah lithium two 40ah DCDC chargers with a separate mppt charger for the Solar on the roof. The camper trailer has a manager 30 175ah lithium. I’m also fitting a seperate mppt charger so I get the full 30ah from the manager 30 plus 10amps from one of the solar panels on the patrol roof. Good pick up on running the earth back to the starter battery
This video helped me getting more charge into my battery. I was checking my Renogy DCDC 30a charger and only 7A max was getting out of the charger with engine running. When I connected the IGN wire, it immediately went up to 15A. However as you say, it's stays connected to the car battery when the engine is off. Still not getting 30A though, might be because I am using 8B&S cables?
Heiner, you are the man! Many thanks for this. I asked ASPW to poke you about this a while back on his patreon. I'm currently running that Redarc VSR to keep my 2nd under-bonnet AGM leisure battery charged up and am very happy with it. If I want to hook up to my trailer's lithium battery Angerson plug to the system, do I need 2 of them? How do I make sure my trailer and my truck leisure battiers both charge correctly while driving? Many thanks from the far side of the world!
Would like to see how you would wire up caravan that has a 3 way fridge, would you have a seperate line or can I run both dcdc charger and 3 way fridge from one anderson plug. Most caravans also have a EsC on a seperate anderson plug so you dont want to many plugs. Thoughts?
This is so handy! I'm about to start wiring up in my canopy (lift off). This seems like i would follow these same instructions, it'll just be a shorter run. If i was to have a 50 or 60 amp charger (for 200-300amp 12v battery) should i step up the Anderson connector size? And any recommendation on fuse size from the starter battery? Or any other changes for this type of system? Cheers
Great vid. How do you set this up with a aux battery with a redarc dcdc already under the bonnet ? In other words setting up the van 3rd battery in the system. Steve
Hi Steve, you would install everything as per the video except it would go to the charger for the third battery in the vehicle instead of the Anderson plug.
Another great video. Will change my setup soon. Thanks again

Thanks Heiner, very informative, it explained a great deal.
Thank you .Great help 👍
Excellent presentation Heiner. All the important points covered and very generous of you to share your knowledge. thanks.
Awesome video. The diagram is a big help . Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Vielen Dank Heiner.

Excellent informative explanation. So , if we have canopy , can we just duplicate the trailer circuit into the canopy ?
On jimny where does neg go. On battery pole or other side of - shunt on chassy just below battery? I am using victron orion.
Great video. Need more like this, very informative 👍🤟

My chart says 6 B and S is 13.5 mm squared.
Yes. 5B&S is 16mm sq and is a nice tight fit into the genuine anderson plug terminals
Except that he says and writes 6 BS, so your comment is silly.
