The reversible feature is a good idea, less chance of scratching the paint. Reminds me of the microfibre towels I saw 2-3 years ago that actually had the numbers 1 to 4 printed in the corner to make it easier to remember what part of the towel had been used😊
Nice one, Martin, thanks for popping up with a quick review of the towels. I'll give these some thought, i do rinseless quite regularly and, if they offer something my chenille mitt doesn't, I'm not put off by the price. I'm like you, i keep thinking about the sponges but, can't get my head around the cost, for just one sponge. All the best mate 👍.
Probably mentioned this before, but look up the Kamikaze Hagakure sponge. Super super soft. If you don't like it for Rinseless (I do), you will still be amazed by it on a normal shampoo wash, so you won't have wasted your money at all. And despite looking like bits are crumbling off, it remains very useable and an absolute favourite. Never trust a random stranger who says 'trust me', but trust me😂
@pigeonpoo1823 I have one the same, from Hygan Care, I use it for the grills on a maintenance wash, decent actually but, I can't bring myself to put it on the paint 😅
@@decker0373 I too have the Hygan sponge. The difference in softness is is huge. I'd never use the Hygan for RW, but i do for shampoo wash as it softens up quite nicely. The Hagakure is a totally different and much much softer material. I'll stop banging on about it now😁
After recommending the double flip towels to you, I have to say that they have been replaced with a Rag Company Ultra Safe Sponge for my rinseless washes. I'm using the double flips for waterless washes and detailer now. Definitely worth buying the sponge.
@@WolfAbarth I have to say that I'm 100% with Martin on the sponges - they may be very effective and they may even be better, but I'll never find out at £20-30 for one - the thing for me is I can buy 3, 4 or 5 REALLY good cloths for £20 and when they stop being effective for the purpose I bought them, they can work their way down the chain of cloth command! To interior cleaning, door jams, all the way down to tar & glue removal before they become oil rags... Once a sponge is past it's best it can maybe be cut down and used for tyre & trim dressing but not much else - so the value, for me at least, just isn't there. But each to their own, it's just not for me, and clearly not for Martin lol 👍🏼
Nice video Martin and totally agree regarding the price, £24.10 on a sponge is really a joke and when you read some of the reviews there is no chance I would buy one, keep it simple, I use 3 microfibre cloths and fold them giving me multiple clean sides
Martin, I use multiple MF Towels when I do a rinseless. I never dip a dirty towel back into solution, any left over will be used again. Sometimes I can get 4 or 5 washes out of 1 gallon of mix. I have never used a sponge when performing a rinseless wash. The towel you have featured looks like a towel we buy from a company in California (US). Thank you sir!
Hi, when using towels I always use Creature towels from Rag Co. and like you never dip them back in the solution just drop them into a bucket for washing although sometimes if the car is a little grubby I have a second bucket with solution in that I drop my dirty towels to soak before washing.
Quite a good idea there, you effectively have 12 sides to work with, did you need to dunk and re-use any of the sides, or could you get round the whole car without that?
Hello Ally, I just used one towel this time and rinsed it in the solution where the dirt from the towel just dropped to the bottom. In fairness the car was hardly dirty at all but I really liked using them. On a dirtier car you may have to use more than one towel depending on how you like to wash with a rinse less wash
I have had a red and black sponge and they both fell apart - reorted back but no explanarion -very good until they collapsed and the squares fell off - I thought you could keep them in the rinseless solution -no answers from Ivan. - £60 waste of dosh - now stick with microfibre towels
That’s poor you didn’t get a reply but were the sponges from Optimum? He’s not with them anymore so that’s maybe why he didn’t answer, just a thought, not giving him excuses.
Your Bob Fleming impression is coming on lovely.
Thanks for review update on these Martin, I am considering
Just my opinion Alistair, use what you are comfortable with mate

Ahh cleaning by numbers 🤣🤣

thanks Lee, check out Roberts sponge experience in his comments, not good. But if you are happy with the chenille mitt then why change?

Been using the sponge method for about 18 months now on my black Audi along with ONR….highly recommend 👍🏻
@@btf2656 I’m sure they are ok but no way am I spending that sort of money on a sponge

@@WolfAbarth nope, not going to happen. A typical detailing industry rip off
@@ObsessiveCarDetailer are they a rip off because they don't perform, or because of the price?
@@WolfAbarth I’m guess they perform but I can’t justify that sort of money on a sponge

Yep a typical detailing industry ripe off as far as I’m concerned. A bit like the cost of a detailing bucket, now don’t get me started on that one🤬

Great feedback martin like u say it's an individual thing what people like I use the micro fibre mit it just works 4 me

that's just crap, I would be really angry. I thought £30 was far too much for a sponge but even worst if they don't last
