I'm rooting for Max Domi. I have always enjoyed watching him play, even before he joined the NHL. This was a guy that I had always hoped would one day appear on the Leafs. He is talented and versatile and is one of my personal favourites on the team. I really hope he stays in Toronto.
MItch Marner is the leaf's version of DeMar DeRozan.

Domi wants to be a Leaf, Bertuzzi just wants to play. I lean towards Domi. He earned my respect when he wore that baby blue blazer in memory of Bob Cole.
Domi. Guy bleeds blue, shows great potential and the effort is always there. Cares about being a Leaf unlike few players on this team. I would be over the moon if he returns.
As for Bert, I wonder if he could get better output under new coach but taking that risk does make me nervous because his production was so spotty this year. If they do sign him though I'll probably be cool with it so long as it's a reasonable AAV with minimal term
Keeping them both makes trades and signings of others much easier.
Awesome video. I'm just a casual observer who always enjoys watching the Leafs tank from afar but it's nice to see a deep dive into the many moving parts of an organization that provides so much entertainment to us year upon year.
Anyone but Matthews and Nylander should be available for a trade

Simply put a team can’t be competitive if they use over half the salary cap on four guys who don’t keep the production up in the playoffs

If Toronto has extra cap space I think hronek would be a fantastic fit! He played great with Quinn Hughes and he could possibly be a great fit for Riley. if he doesn’t sign with Vancouver that could be a possibility

I agree--they should try to keep them both but only for what they're truly worth. Regarding Marner, as much as he frustrates me during the playoffs, he still makes defensive plays that a lot of defensemen don't make. Guys who can score close to 100 points and play defense that well are going to be tough to get. That said, if the Leafs can get a Roman Josi or Jake Oettinger type of player for him then do it.

Bertuzzi is mind frigged after getting moved from detroit and domi is a player in the wrong era as well as toronto maple LEAFS being a dumpster hockey organization. And then walks in a Chief… to lead these warriors to victory… watch oot eh
If it was possible. Getting them both at 4.5 x 4-8 years would be perfect. If that line with Matthews still cooks then it’s a no brainer.
Domi - the Leafs just need help with a playoff style centre
Domi, he bleeds blue and honestly is (obviously not of the same caliber) but I think he'd be a great somewhat replacement for Marner which frees up the leafs to say hey McCrimmon. You want Marner for Theodore and a 2nd or smth? (obviously not exactly that I'm not the GM here lol) but like that would be a great trade for the Leafs and would help Marner get to a new situation which might do him some good. (think Sam Bennet) execept reverse it lol, I think he's also the most likely to sign a "hometown discount" and he seems like a nice glue guy with some fight and bite. He did amazing with Matthews so give it a shot!
Domi for sure but Bertuzzi wasn't the Detroit Bertuzzi but I do think a major problem with these netfront style players didn't work because of Keefe not demanding big shots from the point.

Not a leaf fan but I would go Tyler Bertuzzi. Solid playoff performer and he’s a 20 goal scorer. Domi doesn’t score as much and not all his assists are primaries
I'd go with Domi, since he'd be the cheaper option.
I’m a leafs fan ik a lot of others want them to stay but here’s My question why do we have to overpay either to stay ??? I rlly Will never understand we need grit but 12 mill worth on 2 players when we need dman and a goalie I don’t thinks a great move and it’s not like your paying them to stay for matthews he was just as good before that line happened I can’t say the same for domi ig if you absolutely must overpay one it’s gotta be Bert. We need the extra scoring and Domi won’t offer that
i think if anything is more obvious than ever in today’s NHL, roster depth is just too important if you truly want to compete. if the Leafs cant trade Marner to free up space alone, and knowing tavres cant be traded, you're telling your fan base you are punting next season away. thats it in a nut shell
The Leafs anguish must continue, at this point its like the 2nd draw for an audience and hype to the actual Stanley Cup Finals and 2nd round onwards that the Leafs will never make unless they shake their players up lol

I would aim to keep Domi for home town money and use that as leverage to make a deal with Bertuzzi. If he's smart, Bertuzzi will deny the deal the play for a Florida team.
I want Bertuzzi in NJ. We need another gritty power forward in our top 6. We're too small right now. Palat-Hischier-Meier is a great 2nd line, so having Bratt-Hughes-Bertuzzi as a 1st line would be great.
Nj picked up Keefe as a coach, That means every gritty player you guys sign will lose their grit. Idk what keefe does to these guys but they stop playing their game under him. Bert with boston was stealing sticks from people and bein a dirty pos every game. Under keefe it all went away so fast, keefes style of coaching isn’t good for physical players.

I don't like either of them! Just can't get on board with the current leafs team. Thought I was a fan until I realized " how can you be a fan of a team and not like half of their players?" Leafs have what Blackhawks fans have. a pretty jersey that'll keep people fans.

Lot going on right now .... I like bolth of them as hockey players I don't know how thay are off the ice ..... I could see my self playing with them that tipe of players ... but I think thay are both wingers as am I..... im deff not ready yet but hopefully soon never know !!! Tie Domi's kid and Todd Bertuzzi's nephew on the same team just makes sense. The Leafs need to have a solid foundation to build out from, because so many of their players are going to free agent status. Max and Tyler could easily become the McJesus/Draisaitl of Toronto, if Berube & Treliving quit tiptoe'ing around the concept of closing the revolving door that has been Canadian teams since Gary Bettman decided that Canadian teams are little more than player development farms for the rest of the league.
And if Bettman sees this, I want you to know ya momma's a heaux.

It really would screw over the team if marner stays, because I feel like Bertuzzi and Domi brought a lot to the team in the playoffs, while marner helped give up the OT game 7 winner
That goal was Reilly and Sammy’s fault watch it again not marner it was a dump and chase marner was coming from a line change and covered the lane for as long as he could Reilly froze and Sammy didn’t poke check so it was in simple as that
Domi was top5 in the league for 5on5 assists last season. While Bertuzzi plays better in his own zone & scores more goals. Its gunna be a toss up if u ask me

Hell this past year he was useless is all 3 zones… 2 of his goals came off the rush and his 3rd was a lucky floater that bounced in… in the zone, he couldn’t create anything against Boston which is part of the reason why the Leafs PP was so ass
Nylander is a good player but he drives play way better in the regular season… He’s less dangerous and more opportunistic in the playoffs
Leafs don't have role players , they'll have the same outcome next postseason. Cool that they get there but i have zero faith that they can build a contender with the core four

Keep Bertuzzi Domi is a defensive liability and 21 vs 8 is a no brainer.. who couldn’t rack up assists playing with Mathews? Domi gets crushed against other teams top players. Perhaps moving on from both and signing Better Defense would

Domi 100%, he is a better skater, he's got an elite skillset (don't @ me dude is a former 1st round pick) & if a new coach can get him to become defensively sound he's got monster potential + bc Domi has T1 diabetes, he's always got absolutely top top tier conditioning & should age better than Bertuzzi.
bertuzzi needs to go back to boston. You can tell that boston wasn't the same gritty team this year. Bertuzzi also didn't play like himself in the playoffs.
Bertuzzi was a bust, if he gets under 3mill a year he can stay, Domi has way more potential and breakaway speed
