      It's even worse when you find out that he's done this not only to his grandchild, but to his son. The update has MiL locking herself in a room to breastfeed OP's husband when he was born. I'm surprised MiL didn't say anything beforehand, but if OP's husband is an only child, she had no way of knowing about how much of a fetish this was for FiL

      It's always hard to tell with insults from other countries. Like, is it actually a big deal or not in terms of how badly insulted you would feel? Compare something (well, realistically) common like "bitch" to "whore" or "cunt" (also on the way to becoming very common and I guess there's a lot harsher stuff, but for the sake of the argument). That the minuscule amount that we spend to keep people from starving to death and a roof over their head. You know basic human rights are nothing compared to the giant tax cuts for billion dollar corporations. Or the fact that they don't pay their employees a livable wage and we have to subsidize it with things like food stamps. It's just such a disgusting mindset. Worse still, the MIL knew about her husband’s ‘interests’. MIL actually said it was OP’s fault for not properly locking doors, & that she was asking for it. MIL had dealt w/ it that way when the husband was a baby. Once OP told husband everything he was just as mad. FIL was banned from the house, & both FIL & MIL were furious. MIL still blames OP.
    S2 - OP does get divorced. Wife is a thief & MIL condones it.
    S3 - Sister straight up lied to OP about the situation, & intentionally hurt her niece w/ no remorse. That’s w/o the “reason” behind it. I go to another room but I've never felt comfortable, guess they'll need to wait until the baby is fully weaned until we visit there again (if we ever do)."
      To clarify- did MIL feed FIL for months behind a locked door???
      "No, she fed my infant husband. My FIL creeped her out so much she got a lock for the door."
      Her update:
      I asked my husband what he thought I was mad about (he was in the room but on the other side and occupied with the baby) and he said he didn't realise that his dad actually ate the muffin, he thought I was pissed because he was messing with them. He also didn't remember the group chat incident but agreed that both incidents together is creepy.
      I called MIL to "clear the air" and she revealed that FIL has always been "very interested" in lactation and she actually only fed husband for 4 months and always behind a locked door! Apparently he moved jobs after a woman complained that he kept intruding on her pumping in a designated space in the office
      I've told them FIL is not welcome around me and have asked for the key to our house back.
      I shared the concerns about him tampering with my milk (and contaminating it) and also that if his own wife wanted him locked out then I'm entitled to that too.
      The comment that hit my husband was the one about FIL getting off for years on the memory of eating the gross AF baby muffin. Husband said he won't be able to look FIL in the eye again.

    While its not 'vegan', I will say the FIL's thought process might have been because you can ask a woman for consent for her milk, its vegan via loophole ... granted that STILL doesn't work since he did not ask permission to take OP's breast milk.
    Also, this story has gotten a major update, apparently FIL literally has a breast milk fetish, and his wife, the MIL, admits to OP when she was breastfeeding her son (OP's husband) she would have to lock the door cause FIL used to want to come in and watch, and FIL has gotten in trouble with his job multiple times are making unwelcome comments towards pregnant and breastfeeding mothers at work. OP has banned FIL from the house and husband is sticking by his wife.

He also didn't remember the group chat incident but agreed that both incidents together is creepy.
    I called MIL to "clear the air" and she revealed that FIL has always been "very interested" in lactation and she actually only fed husband for 4 months and always behind a locked door! Apparently he moved jobs after a woman complained that he kept intruding on her pumping in a designated space in the office.

MIL sees this as normal behaviour for a man, and told OP that she should just lock the bathroom while breastfeeding baby to stop FIL, and that she should've expected the muffin theft if she's leaving them in the open. It is. Another TH-camr covered the story with updates. New mom kept ignoring OP, flirting outrageously with hubby, and not taking the hint when both of them told her to stop and also ignored her in turn. Other parents got involved as well.

    Just because the "kids breaking stuff" comes up so often in these posts: in Germany we are really big on insurance, and everyone has liability insurance that covers your children if you have them. it costs me personally less than 20€ a year. When I was a kid, I broke things a lot, and one time broke the really expensive new speakers of a friend of the family. It was no big deal, insurance covered it, and it had no impact on my parents rate. It's a really useful thing to have, especially if you have children. However, I guess it is only this cheap because everybody in Germany has it, so I imagine it would probably be much more expensive in the weird insurance market in the US.

    At my sister's wedding when we were taking photographs my sister said she didn't want me in her photos because one of my arms isn't normal. She had the photographer crop me out of the photos. My parents didn't say a word to her about it. So all the wedding photographs that were of the family have all the family except me. Didany of that surprise me? No. My family has marginalized me my whole life, though they deny it. They can't see it.

    In the last story, the Seadoo in question is a 2-person personal water craft. It uses a water jet propulsion style, meaning the rotating piece is inside the hull behind a metal grate. He couldn't have been injured by a prop, but there was serious risk of being knocked unconscious and drowning as these are designed to turn when the driver is knocked off. When I was young, my Uncle was similar to the OP. He lived by "He who dies with the most toys wins." and I rode many of these style water crafts. I was also probably similar to the nephew's age. There was a progressive process our family used to teach everyone on how to operate them. While no one wrecked any, that I know of, I do know that the entire family would expect the person who did the damage to pay for the repair. If it was a minor, then the parents would be responsible. You break it, you buy it. How this was even in question is beyond me. The law sees it that way, and morally that's the right way.

    I think the wife in the second story needs a higher score for threatening to say she was a victim of abuse incorrectly to the police. People who do that make the genuine cases harder to prove and lives could be ruined with that allegation.

    Fun fact: breastmilk is actually really vegan because it is consensual and providing its purpose which is to feed a person’s offspring however in this case since it was not consensual it’s just wrong

    • @eksboks148
      @eksboks148 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Vegan literally just means does not come from breathing, living, conscious being. Anything past that is someone's own opinions, like if you are allergic to cows milk you very likely won't be able to have breastmilk, does that not say anything? Also i wanna point out not everyone in fact probably not even most people are vegan because of virtue

    • @TechtonicGirl
      @TechtonicGirl ปีที่แล้ว +10

      It’s definitely not a situation for all vegans but the reason women produce breast milk is to feed their offspring and provide immunities to diseases from the mother. There are exceptions as you said allergies exist but due to this purpose it is greatly considered vegan.

    • @miniman649
      @miniman649 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      like.
      It is vegan, by that logic, to harvest an animal that died of natural cause.
      It just died through no fault of anyone, so there is no violation of consent, and the meat now serves a purpose.

    • @TechtonicGirl
      @TechtonicGirl ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This is mostly unrelated but breast milk isn't vegetarian or plant-based, but it does actually have the capacity to be vegan, because consent can be exchanged (which is what veganism is about). It just so happens that it isn't in this specific situation though. 4:31

      All milk is breast milk; only the species differs. Thought about that way, human breast milk can be used anywhere breast milk from a cow, or a goat, or whatever can be used. The only reason we don’t use it more is we don’t have a way of mass producing it that wouldn’t be horribly exploitative-which says something about dairy production.

  • @PinataFreaks

    1st story: The problem vegans have with drinking milk is the taking of the cow's milk without consent. Seeing as humans are capable of consenting, you could argue that breastmilk is vegan. But that requires the consent of the person producing the milk, which the FIL didn't have. Meaning that, no, in this case it wasn't vegan.
