G'day Ryan, l was trained to wear masks in fire fighting for years. Only p3/pn95 masks can stop small particles/aerosol but must be sealed completely. And you have to change it every 20 minutes because the moisture/bacteria builds up and becomes detrimental to your health causing lung and respiratory infections.

Same for us mate, our aim for the business is to support our family and give a little security and not to get rich here. My wife is currently a teacher but will retire early about 6 years later and my overseas income is erratic and I'm way off pension age so it's important to build something that can replace current incomes. As you know we have a few staff doing all the work for us and we know how lucky we are having such a productive, reliable, hard working team as I've seen many other expats here trying to get good staff but not been able to.

Yes, masks...I do not wear them anymore but I always have a handkerchief to cover my nose when I walk by the bus exhaust and especially coal burning barbecues. Many Thais wear masks when on a motorbike and likely it is to reduce breathing pollution or flying insects. Happy travels homeward. Peace and Love Y'all

A few more reasons that perhaps people are forgetting that masks are used is to avoid direct sun exposure as lighter skin is desirable as is un-blemished or unscarred skin that often comes with sun, heat and exposure to wind and material in the air that may hit the face and neck. Wind will also dry out the skin and is harder to recuperate when continuously exposed. This also applies when making efforts to keep even skin color or tone….. anyone who rides often also knows how much the face and neck collect dirt and grit that will also make it harder to maintain healthy, moisturized skin with even tone.

The majority of masks are surgical grade masks which are designed to protect the patient from any bugs the staff may have. But they are not designed to protect the wearer from bugs that the patient may have. E. G. They do NOT protect the workers from getting any bugs if both of us have masks the they are effective but one person wearing mask only protects the non wearer. Thanks for sharing Ryan. I have wondered how you can support yourself and the family and i also saw the video of Damo shopping for clothing too sell on line so I guess its enough to survive on.
You guys live a fairly frugal life so a little does go a long way.
Your desire to spend as much time with the family is what everyone should aim for but unfortunately in this modern world folk have lost track of whats most important, that being the family unit and not just the family but a happy family.
Too much emphasis is put on wealth and material things and too much family time is sacrificed in pursuit of those things.
I could go on forever but I wont. You know what want and strive for so good onya mate.
Mask eh. Bloody masks. Personally I hate them and did my utmost not too wear one through the Covid scam.
As a welder by occupation I understand a fair bit more about mask than most. What type does what ect ect.
And the masks you see most folk wearing in the street do next too nothing. Anyway I wont harp on about it.

I live in Nong Prue... and I wear masks because of the pollution on days when it is bad... and whenever I go cycling hard in the morning. What may look like surgical masks in Thailand are excellent Korean and Japanese-made KF 94 4-ply masks that filter out much more than the Western crap does. I wear the TH 98 5-ply masks (as do many Thais) that filter all the pollution crap from PM 2.5 to other dust particles down to 0.1 microns. In Canada, I refused to wear masks... and it was because of those draconian mandates during COVID that I decided to leave Canada... permanently!

Just need to take a few steps out of the tourist areas. There is a plethora of Thai tourist locations where you would be hard pressed to see a white guy.

You obviously went to Pattaya and stayed there.
Rather a naive basis from which to condemn an entire country.

Fck me, mte. I'd of thought at your age you'd have learnt not to be so naive & judgemental, not to tar a nation of 60 million, with the same brush. What you're talking about is only 3% of a whole, beautiful, respectful country.

In Singapore, I need money for food, for rent, and to have fun with friends and family. Independence. Money isn't the only reason to work. Working can also give more independence and more control over my own life. And the reason for what causes desire for money is people who have a sense of insecurity do not consider what they have enough. They always compare themselves with other people and end up feeling inadequate. They want to measure up to a certain standard and this drives an excessive desire to make money. Including when covid ends up and still continuing only for some original sickness, I'm still wearing masks by protecting myself including making sense for them to understand that lives are important for us to be living without staying in any hospitals.

You should do a travel channel. You are getting better on this thing. But you cant. Missing the kids and wife. It is so much more important.

They already tax money made in Thailand- for me both personal income tax and 10% corporate tax on my companies 👍
