- Headed to Willow Springs to drive the Mono. Probably almost 8-10 seconds off the peak lap time capability of the car but was very fun.

captainsparklez is great man. he gets paid to play video games and make videos and then he takes the money from that and says "cool I'm gonna go buy a racecar" and then he does and he turns that into more videos because he's just genuinely passionate about it and it's so incredible. Just living his best life and 'm 100% here for it

yeah, there's no reason they shouldn't have been able to identify a wreck on their track an have that communicated in in a timely fashion. is there not a tower or somewhere with a lookout?
@@JAEratt13 if someone did have a serious accident there it also means there is no one there to immediately help. Why are there not martials at all parts of the track at all times?

i totally get his frustration at staff. he had specifically asked if someone went off and they clearly had no clue and just made something up.
PS you can put the steering wheel into track mode which doesn’t show the speed so you don’t need the little square of white paper😉
Why would he need to do that? He is obviously going the speed limit.

i was up there that day, over on street of willow for the motorcycle track day. i saw all the mono's ans said "i wonder if CS is up here", couldnt remember what your mono looked like

Yeah turn 2 is rough, my buddy loses the rear end often at that spot in his GT4. At turn 5 or 6 I was a passenger in a GT3RS when it went off and destroyed the front end, Streets of Willow is unforgiving off-track.
The dropoffs at Willow are probably the worst part of going off. Almost every corner is like a ramp for either flying or destroying a car.

I took my car out on a track day for the first time last weekend, definitely a different feeling when it's your car but it was a lot of fun nevertheless.

I feel the same. On roads, like the hills/canyon, I don't feel like I can push as much. On track, I let it all out, tyre squeal round corners and can push my daily harder and harder.

i think you should get a dedicated mic or recorder for these sessions or vids, there are a couple sony recorders with dual mic imputs so you could record the car audio from your chest or wherevver, and one in your helmet if you wanted to, too. :)
The momentum in each corner is where your time is missing and I would not be in a hurry to find it. Enjoy those small incremental gains for a while.

I would recommend in the future have a dedicated audio recording device to capture the car audio, you can just sync it to the video time stamp as long as you press record at around the same time on both devices.

that's very brave to drive your car to and from the track day. They are notorious for breaking cars, then you have to organise towing... if that's possible, and costs a small fortune too

I have to recommend jardon if you want mic audio while driving look at do it with dans video on setting up a motorcycle helmet for motovlogs his audio is decent especially considering the whole loud motorcycle noises thing
You should try the cambox v4pro, its an in-helmet camera that records audio as well so you can talk while driving
you should come up to sonoma raceway someday, its fun and technical

First lap was 5 seconds slower than Donut's recent $50k Civic build, but I think that's still pretty good for the first timed lap with someone that isn't a professional racing driver
Are you also getting the newer KTM xBow?
Or have you tried your friend's mono with the slicks?
Would love to know what the time in the formula Renault was vs the mono’s on slicks. Not many single seater carbon fiber road cars out there probably about as close as you can get without buying a flat out formula race car.
