This is literally one of the best tutorials for understanding how to shoot in manual! I've been using the a6400 for over a year now in the full AUTO mode because it's great! But now I feel like I have a brand new camera! I just went outside and properly exposed a picture in manual mode and it feels great! Learning the exposure triangle has changed the way I plan to shoot! Thank you!!!

This is the best tutorial I've seen so far. I used to know at least some of these things back in the 90s but after that have forgotten most of it. I recently bought an a6400 and now I'm learning again to use these features instead of the auto-mode. This video really pushed me a giant leap forward to the direction where I'm heading to. So enormous thank you for making this video and keep up the great work you're doing. I also had to subscribe to your channel as I most definitely want to see more of your stuff in the future.

Enjoyed watching this video. I own an a7r2 and found some interesting points that I didn't know before. I have a question, in the video, there is a discussion about using manual mode and getting the speed, focal length, and ISO settings so the meter indicates zero. When I have done this, there and put the settings so I have a zero on the range indicater, there are Zebra stips running through a portion of the view which indicates overexposure. Should I adjust to remove Zebras or leave the level at zero? Hope this question is clear.

lol, you are not an idiot Kyle ;) These things take time to figure out and when I first got a Sony camera I had no idea how to do it either!! I had the same issue when I reviewed the Leica D-Lux a while back. That camera you need to physically control to change values and I was baffled at first and needed to read the manual to figure it out. I was shocked how it worked, and was amazed I couldn't figure it out after I knew the answer. Thanks for the comments and have a great day ;)

Excellent video, best tutorial that I've seen. I normally shoot and edit video and for photography I have been stuck with auto and shutter priority for some time now...Thank you Jason for explaining everything..

Excellent info and so well put together!! Thank you so much for breaking this down, I was having a hard job trying to grasp how one setting would effect another in the 'Triangle'. I was thinking there's no way I'll be sitting here for 24 minutes watching this, after I'd paused and replayed it a couple of times to take it all in it was more like 40! Liked and subscribed, now I have to see if you have one for video with this cam 😀👍
