Let's Play: Mario Kart Arcade GP (Longplay)

- Alright, subscribers and viewers alike, so after months of searching and giving up, I've finally found Mario Kart Arcade GP 1, and as an accommodation to the wildly popular Arcade GP 2 longplay also found on this channel, I've decided to let's play the game that started this spin-off series to Mario Kart. As the version of Arcade GP before it's sequel, it was pretty much the same as Arcade GP 2, with less tracks, characters, and custom karts, but mainly the same. There's also a "Special Cup" mode in the game as well, but all the tracks in this game appear in my Arcade GP 2 playthrough, so if you really want to see what Special Cup Mode is like, you can check it out there, all the tracks will appear in Special Cup mode there. So yeah, Mario Kart Arcade GP, the first in the trilogy of Arcade Mario Kart games, and pretty good overall. Also, I've found the link to this game this time on this site called "Emuparadise" so if you just look up Mario Kart Arcade GP Triforce Rom, you should find it there. Although a tip. When downloading it, it'll come out in this weird format, a data archive with a disc image file in it called "GGPE01 - Mario Kart Arcade GP.iso" What you need to do is create an empty folder and name it "GGPE01", take the disc image file and put it in the folder, then rename the disc image file, "game". Just a friendly heads up.

I remember playing this quite a bit at my local Chuck E Cheese. It was very fun and I enjoyed every moment of it.

It's really neat how these courses are connected. For example, the first two courses, Mario Highway and Mario Beach, share the same starting line, and when racing on them you can see where the other course is.
They should port all the Mario Kart arcade games on the Switch! They look so interesting...
You want the Switch to be a 'port' console? They need new games for it.
@@KopyKat81 Old games mostly are better than new created ones. That's something I found out by watching and playing dozens of different games.
The lack of tracks was a big flaw before the GP DX version. Probably why it is so hard to buy arcade machines of the first two arcade versions. And I bet that's why the first two arcade versions are rarely avaliable anywhere.
They would be interesting additions to the Switch e-store.

some of the tracks should of be used as retro tracks in Mario Kart 8
The games aren’t technically canon in the MK Universe, but Nintendo could use them soon as they’re running out of retro tracks fast. Heck, they could even be in the Mobile Mario Kart game that got announced recently

Still the best game in the series
Love this game. Played it in the arcade for years. I even still have the 'Mario Card' memory card that you can use to continue your progress in the game.
Also, something not many might know is that there's an option to play Extra Mode after you completed all of the main cups. The courses will be more challenging, have more variants (e.g. Wario Cup at dawn, DK Cup after rain, Rainbow Cup at a space temple, etc,) you always pick your items, and the mission to get the trophies will be harder too. Most of the rewards from completing Extra Modes are upgraded attacking items though (Or the game calles it "+ Items")
I never got the Mario card. So I wonder if there’s some special emulator for this game that I can replay this game on my computer
I really want to see the Black Shell make it's Standard Mario Kart Series debut.

The first game is common in places like Skegness (Because some arcades can't be bothered to get rid of their old cabinets and plus it is VERY popular)
however, the second game has become less common because of later entries

There should be no need to rename anything, the .iso format is what you actually need. In this case it's probably a Triforce Arcade ISO, supported by the Triforce branch of Dolphin. (The "normal" branch only supports GCN ISOs and Wii ISOs btw)

How do you choose which items to take? I've gone through several cups (emulating it under similar specs) and it always seems like the game chooses the items for me.
If you watched the longplay carefully, choosing items requires the Mario Card.

I dont see why people praise this game so much, the tracks are so lazy that they're all almost loops or figure 8's and the first 2 in each cup repeat themselves in the next 2 races. I love Mario Kart but this is a bust.
