Such beautiful songs! No matter the author or composition, the instruments, the voice, nothing ever tops Gods music. It is a particular blessing when the words being sung come straight from His Holy Word! So many praise and worship choruses got their start as scripture which means you can’t say it’s too hard to memorize scripture. If you know many of these choruses you already know scripture and just don’t realize it. Praise God…He always makes a way. Even when we can’t see it or don’t want to see it!
I like to reverently kid that "of course Handel was able to write his Messiah masterpiece in less than a month! He 'plagarized' the words from the Bible!" Which naturally makes it completely God-honoring and wonderful! Not every hymn or "Christian" song is Biblically accurate, but The Messiah is one we don't have to worry about.
No matter how many times I hear this song I am refreshed and inspired because it reminds me both of my relationship to Almighty GOD and to my fellowman. How harmoniously perfect it is sung. I just love it. Thank you!!!

In 2012, I took a Baltic cruise with my husband and two other couples. One of our stops in Helsinki, Finland was to visit the Sibelius monument, which is quite beautiful. As we returned to the bus, we spontaneously began to sing "Be Still, My Soul"... 50+ voices! Still get a shiver when I think

One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I just heard this song today for the first time, in church. I've listened to it over 5 times already, and I still cannot help but shed tears.
The words are powerful, the music is the perfect medium, and the emotion that comes out during the "Amen"s and how they hug each other. I genuinely love this song and this song makes me feel stupendous.
I know Bill and Gloria said their signature song is "He Touched me" but for me it's this song! Unreal!

This song is so beautiful and the words are wonderful. My wife asked to have this song played at her funeral should I survive her and I asked the same of her. Maybe that sounds morbid to you but we have been married for 46 years as of today (it's our anniversary) and we are of one mind of many things. This is one of them. Robinson I have been given New Life. My first life ended November 24th 2015. When I discovered I had a ruptured blood vessel in the brain, brain surgery had been performed. Before the surgery I was angry and unhappy. GOD gave me another chance. Thanks be to GOD I found out it is a blessing to live. We used this for the closing song at my Mom's memorial service instead of singing another hymn. She'd loved it and we played it so many times for her at the full care home at the end of each visit before she passed away in 2013. It was so significant then, and remains significant to us now.
