I turned my screen around and we both listened, as they got half way into it, where Guy takes the Solo and David takes over and He began to cry. I will never stop being amazied at what an impact their song have on people. Sets the stage to lead them to the Lord!

David Phelps has the greatest singing voice God ever created! the Gaither vocal band is the Best ever. I have been listening to them for decades and never get enough. I start my day with praise and worship to Jesus with David and the vocal band songs!
I love all these folks: Bill, Gloria, Guy, Russ, Michael, Mark, etc, etc. The GVB over the years are my favorite group. I have over 30 of their DVDs. I see some comments comparing others with David Phelps…..seriously? Every Voice coach and teacher I have ever heard from believes David Phelps is one of the greatest singers alive today, and certainly a cut above anyone who has ever been in this group.
When David opens his mouth I see heaven, I see Jesus sitting on the right side of God the Father. I see multitudes of angels singing and praising the Lord with him. My spirit wells up inside of me so much that it feels like my heart is going to split right out of my chest. I'm 71 years old and to feel spirituality whole again is amazing. My husband was a wonderful tenor. His music kept me alive and I felt toward him as I feel toward David. When my husband passed, I died inside. But when I first heard David, I felt closer to Jesus as I once did. Music is so important in your life. My family was all musicians and teachers of music. I love music and will until I die. Mr. David Phelps is the best musician of our day! Thank you David.

When David Phelps brings this rendition to it's climax, my eyes fill with tears and I can't stop crying, totally overcome. He has tried several other venues, but he doesn't fit as well as he does with Bill Gaither's crew. God has shown him where he truly belongs.

I am totally non-religious, a died-in-the-wool atheist...............but I have been listening to these songs for the past 90 minutes and I love them. The harmonies are fabulous and all the singers are great but David Phelps is on another planet. One of the greatest voices I have ever heard.

I used to listen to pop, and rap but one day I was driving home from work with the radio blasting and a voice in my head said...Stop listening to this music. I turned the station to Christian music and never looked back. That voice was not from me because I was busy singing. If you, as an atheist, listened to this music for 90 minutes and loved it, I can tell you, God was speaking to you. Not all thoughts are our own. We have thoughts from demons and from God. Demons tell you things like...you're not good enough, you can't do something...all of the negative thoughts that pop into your mind. And just an fyi, you don't need religion. You just need to know Jesus.

David Phelps is by far the best singer I have ever heard, and I'm almost 61 years old. His voice is so inspiring to listen to. I have played this song so many times as well as No More Nights, and it just gets better each time. Thank God for a voice like his.

He knows an annointed voice when he hears one!!!! After all, his voice is well-known for being an 'Imperial'. I would recognize it anywhere!!!! I listened to the Imperials' albums consistently as a teen! Wow, just wow!!!!!
This is perhaps the most stirring vocal production I have ever experienced. I have watched it dozens of times and it still gives me goose bumps. The entire group is just spectacular. David Phelps really unleashes the power of his voice in this one. His vocal control and precision is simply unmatched anywhere. The note he belts at 5:08. is mesmerizing. It's difficult to launch into an upper register power note like that from a standstill, and he executed it perfectly. What a gifted group of musicians and a great gift to all of us.
I do not know how many times I have listened to this, many, many. The tears still come to my eyes when David hits that note .... he comes close with "At the Cross".. but this is the best ... the whole scenario, the hall, the time, it is all there.

Praise the Lord, this was filmed at Carnegie Hall in New York just several months after the 9/11 and now last month was the 20th year mark since that horrible day in our nation! To God be the glory in all things for He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end!
I told my daughter that before i die, I would so much love to see the Gaither program in person. I grew up listening to the Gaither trio. My father turned on the electricity, the first time WCTV Tallahassee was ever on the air. We had the Cathedrals, The Florida Boys, The Crab Family, and a host of other musicians. My father was also in a non known group, called The Joyful Singers. They did local stuff, but never made it to any big time act. I did however manage to meet folks like Jimmy D. Young, Billy Graham and Oral Roberts. There was one occasion, while I was away at a Christian Summer Camp called "The Wilds", I missed the opportunity to meet Bill and Gloria, when they came through Florida. I just would love to fulfill my own dream of seeing The Gaither Vocal Band, in person. Of course this would only play second fiddle, to the birth of my daughter and grandchildren. The power of God, the presence of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus Christ, will guide me through any trials that life has to throw at me.
This song is thrilling from start to finish. I call it the Halleluia Anthem of Freedom. When one can share in religious liberty, we have to be thankful. Many persons in some countries cannot freely worship. So, this song resonates with me as we do experience religious freedom in our country. Each time I watch/listen, I want to sing out like the Gaithers,"Let freedom ring!" It thrills my every nerve. I stay in "Standing Ovation" mode for a while after. They seem to be singing from the heart and that's what gives me a whole lot of joy.

This is perhaps the most stirring vocal production I have ever experienced. I have watched it dozens of times and it still gives me goose bumps. The entire group is just spectacular. David Phelps really unleashes the power of his voice in this one. His vocal control and precision is simply unmatched anywhere. The note he belts at 5:08. is mesmerizing. It's difficult to launch into an upper register power note like that from a standstill, and he executed it perfectly. What a gifted group of musicians and a great gift to all of us.

That mesmerizing high note is a c-sharp! That’s a half-step ABOVE the classic tenor high C! It is the most amazing key change I have ever heard.

I do not know how many times I have listened to this, many, many. The tears still come to my eyes when David hits that note .... he comes close with "At the Cross".. but this is the best ... the whole scenario, the hall, the time, it is all there.
It does it to me every time .. David has a couple more "home runs" ... Hide Me Thou and At The Cross with the GVB.
Joe, I can't listen without the tears flowing myself. Just proud to be chosen to be one of Gods children, and to live in one of the greatest Country on this planet, where we can sing freely of of what our Lord has done. What a beautiful song.

I told my daughter that before i die, I would so much love to see the Gaither program in person. I grew up listening to the Gaither trio. My father turned on the electricity, the first time WCTV Tallahassee was ever on the air. We had the Cathedrals, The Florida Boys, The Crab Family, and a host of other musicians. My father was also in a non known group, called The Joyful Singers. They did local stuff, but never made it to any big time act. I did however manage to meet folks like Jimmy D. Young, Billy Graham and Oral Roberts. There was one occasion, while I was away at a Christian Summer Camp called "The Wilds", I missed the opportunity to meet Bill and Gloria, when they came through Florida. I just would love to fulfill my own dream of seeing The Gaither Vocal Band, in person. Of course this would only play second fiddle, to the birth of my daughter and grandchildren. The power of God, the presence of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus Christ, will guide me through any trials that life has to throw at me.
I hope you finally got a chance to see them in person... 😊

This song is thrilling from start to finish. I call it the Halleluia Anthem of Freedom. When one can share in religious liberty, we have to be thankful. Many persons in some countries cannot freely worship. So, this song resonates with me as we do experience religious freedom in our country. Each time I watch/listen, I want to sing out like the Gaithers,"Let freedom ring!" It thrills my every nerve. I stay in "Standing Ovation" mode for a while after. They seem to be singing from the heart and that's what gives me a whole lot of joy.

This is an angel sent down from Heaven for us to enjoy. That voice is positively HEAVENLY. He gives me the goosies and makes the hair on my neck stand up all at the same time!!!
