Oh... I didn't know that Bessie Smith was still alive, white, and playing trumpet. Great singing. And a super trombone. Girl power.
This band is the very essence of Jazz played in the True N.O Style, fantastic rhythm section, accents great, and terrific drive, the Bassist, wow, love his style. Marla's' voice' really Bessie Smith almost too good to believe, should be on ALL radio stations and TV.
Great performance. Exceptional clarinet solo!
WOW, Driving hot New Orleans Jazz played as it should be played, inventive, exciting, wonderful musicians. Very good sound, I wish we had this music on Radio, it's good to see these young people playing and sounding like the the guys of old played at Funky Butt Hall and San Jacinto both places having been destroyed by modernisation many years ago. Best wishes to these great musicians.
WOW! Sounds like the Good Old days of George Lewis, BUnk Johnson, Kid Thoams er all. Rhege musicians are incredible, ensemble style HOT jazz just like the old days. Wonderful Thank yiu all.Terry Offord Melbourne Australia

Good trombone solo!
Real Jazz lives!!! Great stuff. Haruka plays trombone better than I ever managed.
Plus she has so much energy and she is so cute.
WOW........that was good. Now a favorite..!!!
Play LOUD and often!
The banjo rocks ! : )
Been offline for awhile, So glad and happy to hear this amazing band again, they are beyond belief, TRUE New Orleans style, music from the heart and minds of amazingly young musicians. Wish these guys would come to Australia. Their mastery of their instruments, despite the complexities of playing both soloand ensemble is so very New Orleans, I'd call the band the BEST, should be on radio. THanks to all these brilliant musicians.
I broke my elbow in November, still recovering, no playing gigs of course, I play clarinet, I'm testing myself out by playing along to TH-cam videos, The Shotgun band are best for me, my kind of jazz, a great band.

How can a Japanese lady play New Orleans Jazz? It is incredible and wonderful.
Very well , despite the 94 degrees and high humidity. Thanks for the comment. Bill
Easy, Japan has a number of bands who play this style, previously thirty forty years ago. George Lewis visited and theyve never forgotten his style, this band is the best Ive heard for years, real HOT jazz a-lah- Kid Thomas, JIm Robinson, Trummy young and others.Amazing to hear this style played by Young Musicians, sanity has arrived at last. Many Thanks for the music. Terry Offord, Melbourne Australia.

wonderful performance. I am wondering how you can play the music without music note. Especially Trombone player? thank you Trombone Prayer.Good talent!
A "classic" jazz tune here and elsewhere but the true 'back story' is worth investigating thru Wikipedia - a sad lament originally of a love lost at a young age, written initially as a poem, in 1865.
Martin Bunny:
Maggie Clark Johnson’s parents house in Binbrook is still occupied. Maggie is buried about a mile west in Mount Hope, Ontario.
Marshall Bowen Thanks for that Marshall, always great to have a little more background. We will be singing 'Maggie' to a group in an aged care facility next week. Also have a great CD on Judith Durham's (The Seekers) sister Bev Sheehan doing a really up tempo version with Tom Baker ( ex San Francisco) trumpet
Hey y’all, that’s good stuff you’re playin’ ! We love ❤️ it and hope you gone do more. Can’t see drumming man tho, maybe if he move over a bit tween horn an tbone?
