    Been watching at 2x speed on mobile while dipping in and out. I'm currently around the 1:25:00 mark where you reach building 3. Man, the Amiga version looks and sounds so much better. It didn't occur to me previously but the buildings here are colour coded too huh? Walls are painted to use the Blue > Green > Yellow > Red > White tier scheme too.
    Exploring is pretty much for people like me who want the insurance of knowing where the power rooms are on each floor so I can keep myself topped up as necessary with the power siphon and never actually use most of the energy crystals around ^_^;; I do love the confidence with which you wander around and use items. While I do admit that part of how I play is to try to kill as much stuff with guns as possible, I do hoard way too much stuff and spent too much time muling stuff around to the turbo lifts and shuttle rooms, which end up being unused >_>
    Will comment on the rest later once I catch up ^_^

      It does indeed, plus the sound is in stereo as well, so you can tell which side you are being attacked from (the ST version was mono, like the PC). Ah, and you'll notice the levels get progressively darker in shade too, the deeper you go, with the floor GAR is on being almost black rather than white. (^w^)
      To be fair to you, I have played this game a lot (though admittedly not as much as Captive / Dungeon Master), and I did practice a good bit before recording this particular video. Even so, it's a fairly relaxed run really because I can usually go through the entire game in less than 2 hours now, having memorised precisely where all the key items are and in which order the floors are best tackled to minimise overall use of resources. (^_~)
      Hmm, it seems I also owe you an apology since it would appear it's entirely possible for the locations where fixed items are normally found to be transposed by the computer room. I had it happen with both the white shield and the prototype gun in one game: both of them unfortunately being replaced with white disks instead. Man, I suppose if you were really unlucky, this could happen with both the red & white guns in the same game, although you do get more than one chance to obtain those luckily. For sure, the white gun is always in the storage room on Building 4 Floor 5 for one thing, just like the prototype shield is always in the one located on Building 5 Floor 5, as you quite correctly pointed out in your previous reply to my mistaken belief it was on Floor 2. (^_^;)
      Yep, and definitely preserve those Krellian Power Spheres for the nastier floors of Buildings 4 + 5, especially Floors 2 + 4 respectively, which have a really nasty array of GAR's elite troops. Fail to do that and you end up burning through crystals & repair pods in no time and are forced to retreat like I did in my original video. Hopefully, this playthrough ends up being considerably better in that regard. (^_^)

      @@sasamisa1806 Stereo sound is nice, though I don't think I've been hit enough times from the side that it mattered. Your danger indicator actually turns red to indicate the direction the enemy is in. The DOS version just turns red completely. Aww man... if I ever play this again, I gotta play the Amiga version instead lol. The darker shades... signs we're nearing the source of EVIL ?_? Also just remembered the other design quirk. In the Amiga version, the appropriate modules make you immune to traps by not triggering them when you pass through them. But in the DOS version, they go off. Which also makes the Amiga version somewhat harder in theory since it does mean you're vulnerable to them again if your modules get damaged.
      If I wanted to be more of a pro at this game, it's up to me to level myself up and play more of this till I get better. Alas, I don't think I like this game enough to run it to that level ^_^;;
      Thanks, but there's really no need for an apology, I was going to explore the entire map anyway ^_^ It is interesting to hear that computer rooms can move fixed items around too. I have to assume this was an oversight of sorts. At least you didn't get softlocked like me when the game just refused to spawn a computer room with the last White Disk, that'd be really annoying >_>
      I'll miss those Krellian Power Spheres. I actually had a security controller item that I didn't use either, but with my luck, I usually find the security rooms once I've cleared most of the map =_= BTW, does the Photon Emitter not consume that much Energy, if at all? I guess it doesn't matter that much given the breakneck speed you play at compared to me, but it's something I've wondered about and not thoroughly tested. As for retreating, I did it quite a few times, comes with the territory for this game. There was one time where I ended up trapped inside a power room. Infinite energy, so pop out, shoot a bit, retreat, recharge shields. th-cam.com/video/Dc8AdhNTktI/w-d-xo.html if you wanna see lol. If the timing is somehow wrong, it's 6:36.

      @@Kibbitz The ST version was like that as well with the indicator, much like Chaos Strikes Back was missing the Magic Map. Early on, programmers were sloppy with the 16-bit ports and didn't bother adding anything to particularly take into account the Amiga's superior hardware, although things did improve with time I'm glad to report. I believe it's fair to say from what I've seen of the PC version thus far, it's a very different beast too. Oh, it's not just the items being in alternate locations, it doesn't play very much like either the ST or Amiga versions, which are, to all intents and purposes, the exact same game. (^p^)
      I recall it did state in the manual that the Photon Emitter does consume a small amount of power, yet if that's true, it's far less than a mere single shot from your laz gun since the energy bar hardly shifts whatsoever as I am running around the corridors in my video. Even the shield uses more, but only if it is drained to any degree, which is why you never need turn it off, and indeed, that's not a good idea on the later floors anyway, because certain enemies, like those damn sparks, will cause massive damage when your shield is down. (*_*)
      (As a quick aside: I achieved my first ever no-death clear on Hard Musou today against Belger. I'll go into it more when I upload my next Bulleta video.)
