- Okay, I've been promising it for quite a while and here it is at last: the first two missions, which showcase pretty much everything unique the game has to offer. Heh, not least, the two most lethal encounters, the Water Pods & Dwarf Ghoul (although ED-209 & Bug continue to be a pain as well for sure).
I'm not playing quite so conservatively this time, clearing out the bases a tad more than I usually would and especially the larger groups of enemies. This is mainly to reduce the slog on the second mission... I mean, watching me shoot hundreds of rounds of Hunter ammo into the strongest encounters later on isn't particularly fun, is it. Instead, I pile all the experience on one droid so he can use Twin Cannon as soon as it's available on Budod. This weapon is so devastatingly powerful, it makes short work of the first station and keeps the nastier encounters in check following on from that. Just have to remember to have those shields up as a rebound pretty much equals instant death with the terrible armour I maintain throughout in order to save experience for the ultimate weapons, the Sprayguns. (^_^;)
Incidentally, me typing at the beginning using the mouse was down to me worried I'd accidentally kill the recording through the keyboard (I set it as 'Q' to avoid the number pad). Luckily, none of the codes on the first mission have that letter. That damn cheeky Big Guns creeping up on me when I was in the shop on Budod, too! I wasn't sure if I got him or not, which is why I was looking around with the radar, and yet still somehow managed to miss him. (^w^)
Note: I also had to skip the intro because the music doesn't play right with the HD installed version I have. I played around with the settings in WinUAE, but nothing seemed to fix it, so that's that, I guess. It's easy to find on TH-cam anyway, including the commentary version I did with Chris. (^_^)
Shortest rescue ever. Oh Trill lol. Loving the firing squad you have as it slowly climbs from pistols to Hunters and finally the pair of Twin Cannons.
Oh yes! The progression in this game definitely keeps you invested, rising to a fever pitch in Mission 2. Fair enough, you could say I'm exploiting things a bit, allowing one droid to earn all the experience to obtain the stronger weapons earlier, but truth be told, if you don't do that and do decide to continue, things get rapidly out of hand on the higher missions. By Mission 5, we're talking enemies decimating all but the strongest protection in seconds and you unable to even scratch them if you foolishly stick with the Automatics, as my mate once believed you could. (*_*)
YaY! thanks will watch the 1st two now! always wanted to finish this game , but there was some level where you had to run through it before fire/ timer or something and i could not remember the route out quick enough guess the kids would call it rage quit now lol
That's what the Root Finder is for, you know, as in it finds the route to or back to the entrance, depending on whether you are inside or outside of the base proper. At any rate, you're most welcome - the second mission is processing right now incidentally, and should be up by tomorrow sometime. (#^_^#)
oh crap! i must have not sussed that out! will check them both out !
