Thank you for this video..Simple and to the point without the usual unnecessary information that makes it 20 minutes long..Will be giving it a shot as soon as the part comes in...Thank you sir...
I reset my the CEL and it never came back on. If you don't reset, then the PC has to go through and entire cycle before it notices the change. So it may take a few days , depending on your driving...
@@robmastronicola4887 if you don't have a OBD2 scanner tool, you can disconnect your ground battery cable for about 5min. This will reset your computer.
Hey there and thank you for the video. I will be replacing this on my Traverse tomorrow. Do I also have to replace the Canister Vent Valve Solenoid for this code as well or does the code P0496 just require the replacement of the Canister Purge Valve?
Changed purge valve and still getting same symptoms. Could it be anything else... like a leaky hose or something related or would that set off a different code altogether?
Check your gas cap and seal. If good, check for a hose leak somewhere. Make sure to turn check engine light off . If it comes back on with same code , there is something else in the evap system leaking. Most likely an air hose somewhere. Don't forget to like, share & subscribe.
@@carlosthemasteroftrades5070 I was told that there is another evap vent on the gas tank but from what I see you have to drop the gas tank to get to it. That's out of my expertise to do that.

How about if I don't have a code 🤔
Then you don't have an issue.....
