I'm really surprised this one doesn't get more attention. As you said, not only is it a fun & catchy tune, not only are they singing, but they're playing their own instruments. Everybody looked like they were having a great time, too.
I grew up on Funk and Disco and loved every minute of it..being a kid in California in the mid to late 1970's. Pure delight. And it got better in the 80's with freestyle dance

My mom is from Tijuana Mexico and she’s a fan of disco music so every weekend we clean the house she’ll be Bumping radio to all these classics I thought it was 😁 but I really enjoy 😉 them So I thank her for that every time I hear them they remind me of her

I was a teenager when this song was HOT, late 70's/early 80's. Those dance parties always got lit up when this song was played. Decades later it's still funkaliscous!!

I saw them in concert in October ‘78, I was blown away by Janice Johnson on bass guitar
That is not a concert, it is a typical large disco of the 70's.
This just brought me back to a particular trip to Panama City in 1979. Sighhhh.... Loved The Midnight Special, never missed it!
I was almost 9 years old when this song came out. I'm recommending doing a reaction to another good song from the 1970s titled "When Will I See You Again" by The Three Degrees.
Loved this since I was small. Still love ATOH, first time I saw girls play something other than acoustic guitar or piano. These ladies were inspiration for a generation of girls who were told "girls can't play", lol!
Then Fanny and the Runaways came out too, and yes, they ALL could play, and well.

Grade school music for me. A Taste of Honey, Chic, the Commodores, Bee Gees--all from the Disco Era of the 70s, better than what's out there today.
As far as crappy 70s disco, this was one of my favorites. Then again, I was 11 years old.
You must do some Bee Gees now. "Night Fever", "How Deep is Your Love" and "Staying Alive" which topped all the disco sounds then.
I second Staying Alive. Sometimes, you just gotta strut that. :D
I would add "If I Can't Have You" featuring Yvonne Eilliman which after "Night Fever" is my favorite from that album.
I like the way the Bee Gees do it as while as Yvonne. It's on their greatest hit CD.

They performed in New Jersey in 2004. It was on pbs and it's on TH-cam
This was on a music compilation album i had when i was 10 years old called i think "Music Magic" It had various current mostly Disco popular songs of that time.
They are still playing that song in Vegas

I never really liked the "Disco" era, but there were a few songs I did like, and this was one of em. That driving Beat made it a real good listening song, for those of us who didn't dance to Disco. A solid B+ grade for this song.

Also worth checking out the B side - world spin . It's a slower song but just as brilliant . I'm old enough to have bought this new as a 45 single ! .
