They're the main reason this song still kicks some ass even today, lol.

That's probably why depression and craziness started after they got rid of disco music. It was happy music. I read somewhere the reason disco music was so awesome is because they went and studied frequencies, music and sound technology from Egypt and other ancient cultures on how to lift the spirit with sound. Earth, Wind and Fire is one of the main groups that did this along with other disco singers.
"Disco" was concocted by in the early 70s by Manhattan's GAY BOYS celebrating the Stonewall Rebellion, plus the fact that we always danced anyway to have fun. And we did it all night. With the spectre of AIDS in our faces, 1981 saw the top gay movers & shakers of the Disco phenomenon pulled back. Death was nothing to dance about. As a tribe, our roots go back to 'African rhythm & blues.' Oh did we ever love those African crumbs. Without the African influence there would have been no Disco. It is quite evident that the best music of the genre was spearheaded by African Divas; from Gloria Gaynor to Donna Summer those drums were thumping and jumping. Donna is gone, taking our mirror-ball with her. RIP Donna. RIP Disco.
