If the large dolphin had "scarring" on it's body, it was probably a Risso's dolphin. They are usually further out on the Bay, but they can come in shore
Considering what I've seen off the coast of SF this year, outside the bay, I'm gonna guess he was right in his ID. Risso's are rarely seen swimming solo. Smallest pod I've seen was 9 or 10 dolphins, but seen hunting pods up near Fort Bragg well over 50 strong.
@@StephenWillis-il2mc no, rissos are porpoises. While it's true that dolphins and porpoises are lumped into the same suborder as all toothed whales, that does not make them whales. They are completely separate species.
As the season drags on Im starting to get mad at myself for not being able to hit the water. Back in March I slipped on a wet step and broke multiple ribs, punctured a lung and spent 5 days in the hospital for it. I was warned when I got discharged that ribs can take a long time to heal .... they were right. Nearly 4 months later I can barely cast a rod without pain and cant even think about what it would do to me to fight a fish larger than a bluegill. Thanks for your vids Adam, its been awesome watching your channel grow.
Hell yeah Adam 💪🏼‼️ Have you ever SoCal limited on Halibut? It’s been an epic year down here and it’s still 5 per angler 🍻 I forgot you have a commercial license. Yes he has
Hey dude new viewer enjoying your vids! what would you say the total startup cost is to getting going with the commercial license on a personal craft? Like for the necessary permits and stuff not the gear. Nice 'butts!
Where’d you launch bro? I bought a kayak just like yours. Two 140ah batteries in parallel. I’ve been catching nice trout and hella stripers but I’m ready to try for halibut and sea bass. I live in American Canyon. Richard Luke. Look me up if you’re in the area.
Looks like Santa Cruz off Opal Cliff around 40 feet of water. Caught 5 since 19 June. Largest being 41.5 inch / 31 pounds and being attacked by a juvenile great white shark. It charged and bit my motor while I was fighting a 28 incher. Bite marks on prop and shaft... Had to full left rudder to go straight and limp back to harbor. lol...
I think Minke whales do not spout much and have a "prominent" small dorsal "fin/fluke" that appears as soon as they surface. You got your limit of 2; carrying a Commercial fish license? 2 is a sport fishers limit?. You must do lots of late night editing after a long day trip on the water to condense it to a17 minute of video. Maybe others edit your shows???
Thanks for taking us along!! Nice halibuts!
Nice quick limit, and go home. Sweet. Thanks Adam. ✌️
Those Halibut you catch are always the bomb!
Very nice looking halibuts - and a picture postcard day out there!

Fishing’s been so good down there recently. Last couple trips I could barely keep the lingcod off long enough to catch halibut.
Thanks man enjoyable as usual.

Great vid as always. I got to eat Minke whale while in Iceland. Highly recommended. It was like the most amazing sushi grade tuna but better.
@Die Hard Fishing - How do you personally cook your Halibut ?
Tempat mancing yang sangat bagus sodara keren
My slowest troll is 2.5 mph

Those uv dodgers can be charged brighter with a UV light box or home made one.

For sure a Risso's dolphin. They kinda have markings like a faded killer whale but different body shape. I see them all the time in Bodega Bay.
I'm an East Coast guy and fish for Fluke, AKA summer flounder. I'm a big fan of using scent goo on my lures. Is that not a thing out there?
Not as much. Shops sell it, and most anglers I know have tried it, but I don’t know anyone who regularly uses it.

Alameda rockwall and Oyster Point.

2 piece rod?
Could be a short-finned pilot whale
Time to take some dawn soap and oxi clean to that life jacket.
