Oh boy, the Yoko Dogfighter. Story time: I think it was 83-84?, I was 11-12 years old and a regular racer in our area. I was racing my new RC10, must have been 84. One weekend a couple of out-of-towners showed up together, and they had Dogfighters. I hadn't seen one on-track before. Those Dogfighters absolutely annihilated our outdoor track, everyone, every class, all weekend long. I never seen anything like it, or forgot that, and can still see the cars on track in my mind. I had never seen RC cars so brutally fast, consistent and composed at the same time. Those cars were absolute weapons, dudes must have been next level. After that race, never saw those guys or those cars again. A few of us bought Yoko's after seeing those guys clean house, and nobody could get them to run fast. Not even close. Me? I was 12, not a great wrench. My car was so slow, so sloppy, noisy, I knew right away I had no chance or idea on how to get it to the level of those mystery drivers. Not sure who those guys were, but that is one of my favorite memories. So to this day when I hear or see Yokomo Dogfighter, my inner voice automatically voices "BRUTAL". Cheers!
@@HearnsHobbiesMelbourne Great to see Yokomo is alive and well. These RC cars from the 1980s are absolutely the pinnacle of quality and engineering detail. I'd definitely get one if I have more time on my hands. Thank you for the video!
I always wondered where custom works got the drive chain and front one way hubs from an rear hubs. They are 834 parts. Outstanding
Thank you for watching!

Great story! Thank you for sharing!
Great video review, this RC car originally came out before I was born. I thought Yokomo had gone out of business.
This is such an iconic and classic buggy. Yokomo are very healthy. Thanks for watching!
