    4:50 the gyro affecting your ability to steer reminds me of my ford escape awd with traction control. The traction control sent me into the snow banks every time I drifted around snow covered back roads. Even when I turned it off, it kicked back on soon as it sensed any yaw. If I had kept the vehicle I would have pulled the fuse disabling it.

    Yay, more race stuff! What a cracking little buggy. Yokomo stuff is always top class.
    The stuff you listed at the end; I totally agree, none of it should be called "negative". Yeah, the gearing and suspension/steering setup will need adjusting, but Yokomo are selling a buggy that can be used on any track, or any type of surface, anywhere in the world. The chances of them giving it a jack-of-all-trades setup that absolutely nails what your particular track requires, is next to zero. What they need is a buggy that's easy to drive, from the box. They've clearly done that. Sensored would be nice, but that would jack the price up and anyone taking it seriously would get faster stuff, anyway! Great video!

      Thanks mate. It’s my favourite camera angle for these buggies. You wait… everyone will be doing the same soon 😊

    • @extec101
      @extec101 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its a cool angle and also show how much to positive the outer wheel goes in corners, its easy to think that camber gain makes the wheel tilt inwards during turns but what theory and what works practical is sometimes not the same.

    Looks like a great buggy out of the box. There are certainly fine adjustments you get on something like the B6.x or equivalent, but running mid-pack pace with the B main folks speaks to how good it is out of the box and how good you are with very little race experience. One thing we do at my local track is yell out if we crash on track. Simple stuff like "straightaway!", "wall!", "sweeper", etc. If you're fast enough you can also add "stay low/inside/high/outside". My first criticism to the RTR that may not apply to the UK buggy classes is that it appears to be a basic kv rated motor. My local club and many in the US usually run roar spec motors by turn count. You have 21.5, 17.5 and mod (which is essentially non-blinky open motor). I think novice is generally run-what-ya-brung if it's a legal chassis for the track but even a simple justock combo would make this race legal at most/many tracks worldwide

    It's nice that we're seeing a return of RTR buggies that aren't just the Traxxas Bandit. I think stadium trucks would have been a better option simply because their larger tires and increased suspension travel makes them more versatile, but it seems like a lot of RC guys have an irrational hatred of stadium trucks so I guess buggies would sell better.

    Gyros work great on dirt race tracks. On the carpet track, the Yokomo Gyro needs to be put in DPS mode and the gyro endpoints need to be set up so that you get full steering. Gyros only cause problems when jumping high bashing as it causes your vehicle to go wonky in the air and then crash. I race the Yokomo SO 2.0 2wd buggy offroad and carpet track. Awesome buggies once you get used to them and tune them or the track.

    yeah with the top speed, the claims are a little iffy but when racing, you want to be hitting your top speed at about 2/3 down the straight. if you hit too soon, you're geared too high, if you don't hit it, you're geared too low. 48 kph, was probably just right for that track since the back straight wasn't that long.
    I noticed in our on camera shots it leans quite a bit in the corners, could prob do with a sway bar as well to help stay planted in the corners.
    Looks like a decent ripper for the casual racer though.
