So i listened to your comments from Part 1 (th-cam.com/video/UyZmbmU3I0E/w-d-xo.html) for this, and it was still really hard to cut down to another 20 😂. Hope you enjoy another celebration from a seriously good year in music! Enjoy :-)
Exactly... For guitar players though, I suspect many here would have digested either Nosferatu Man or Don, Aman as being more "riff-like". I just wish he played that C-chord-shaped follow-up part to it...my heart desired it.
It was good. I was 14 in 1991. We didn't know it then, but it was a golden age for Rock music, maybe the last one. We thought having all these bands was normal. In the same way, I often imagine what it must have been like to have heard Zeppelin and Purple in 1970
Great job on both lists. Some Aussie 1991 perspective - Hoodoo Guru's - Miss Freelove '69 - from Kinky, Screaming Jets - Better - from All for One, Baby Animals - Early Warning from their self-titled album which kept Nevermind from the top of the Aussie charts.
thanks man, cheers for the Aussie perspective too, very cool, hadn't heard of those bands! Baby Animal's has a bunch of influences, reminds me of Aerosmith a bit
Just making sure people gasped and sat transfixed, as he saved the very best for the very last...and with only a miniscule sliver from that Slint tune, at that. Well, the very best of everything covered in this 2-part series. Slint alone would make 1991 a god-tier year for LP releases, but as we saw him touch on, Dino Jr, Pixies and Mudhoney also put out some quality work. But what he didn't cover is what also makes 1991 an untouchable year of output: Jesus Lizard - Goat Melvins - Bullhead My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Sebadoh - III Unsane - s/t Wedding Present - Seamonsters Cows - Peacetika Tar - Jackson Arcwelder - Jacet Made in Canada Swervedriver - Raise Primus - Sailing Seas of Cheese Fishbone - The Reality of My Surroundings The fact that Spiderland, Goat, and Loveless AND Bullhead AND Sebadoh f-ing III all came out in the same year means it will forever remain untouchable in the history of the universe. Honestly only Spiderland and Goat were necessary to claim those honors...as though any band has ever or will ever have it in them to lick those LPs' boots.
haha thanks mate, a fine year indeed. Could have done 100 riffs easily :-) Thanks for pointing out some of the other bands too, glad you enjoyed the Slint inclusion :-)
Awesome! May I ask what you use to record your videos? I've been out of the game for a long time but wanting to get back into it. Want to do it right this time and upgrade from recording with a potato! Ha! Thanks!
Sure man! I use a two notes torpedo captor and Steinberg ur12 audio interface. Both come with their own software (wall of sound and cubase respectively) and it means I can record my tube amp silently as I record when the kids are in bed mostly! I used to use a usb mic into audacity when I could play through my amp and cab but I don’t do that now but that was a cheap set up! Hope that helps
Cheers Karl! Bit of a secondhand bargain, well until I did get a stone chip on my windscreen en route to picking it up resulting in a windscreen replacement excess cost haha but hey ho! I was thinking i'd get it refinished but the red sparkle looks lush so will leave it as is. 9.5" radius too so i'm loving it
Thanks man! Yup managed to find a great second hand deal on one as I've been after one for a while :-) Lots of the tabs are over at Patreon for ones I've done full lessons for mate, I'll be covering some of these tracks at some point tho ;-)

Was not expecting to hear a Slint riff!!! Fucking awesome!!
haha snuck that one in ;-)

Oh yeah! Dinosaur Jr! Looking forward to a lesson of a Mr. Mascis' tune!
Imagine hearing them for the first time in those days... and I wasn't even born

High school class of '91, representing.
Let's just say it was quite a year for landing some god tier cassette tapes.
Always thought Don’t Damn Me was one of GnR’s coolest riffs. Not sure they’ve ever played it live.
“Give it away” was so well played! I’ll have to go check your part one now
thanks Stephen! There's a lesson for that on here somewhere too :-)
@@LetsPlayAll good stuff, will take a look at that!
hell yeah love the slint at the end

Primus - Sailing Seas of Cheese
Fishbone - The Reality of My Surroundings

Don't forget Laughing Stock by Talk Talk. Spiderland, Loveless and laughing stock are the holy trinity of that year
brilliant!
Oh wow someone who actually recognises Slint. Would've been a 10/10 video if you had managed to get my bloody valentine in there but the tunings..
;-)
I have most of these albums on cd,,when they came out! ah,,the old 90's fatastic for gigs, rick indie clubs, and lots of superb bands
I was 18 in '91, so all my purchases were cassettes...for my JVC dual-cassette boombox. Big time stuff.
Yeah man! More from Slave to the grind on the next one.
Crazy how many classic albums came out in that year, isn’t it?
I know mate, what a year!
Adoro seus vídeos 👏!

Screaming Trees - Uncle Anesthesia
Tad - Delinquent
Teenage Fanclub - December
Manic Street Preachers - Motown Junk
Great stuff, could you do a guitar lesson for soup by Blind melin?
Melon
I'll add it to the list mate, but best place for requests is over at Patreon as I prioritise those :-)
Oooh a shiny red jaguar, nice
Cheers Karl! Bit of a secondhand bargain, well until I did get a stone chip on my windscreen en route to picking it up resulting in a windscreen replacement excess cost haha but hey ho! @@LetsPlayAll I'd leave it as it is, if you change your mind look up Toby at tdog custom finishes he's a good lad
And of course, God bless 1991!
What has happened to music? These days we get a fraction of the good music we got 30 years ago.
Omg that McCready strat..
Thanks Ryan!
Awesome… has someone got a new guitar 🎸 in there? A Jaguar?
Are they any tabs for some of these killer riffs?
Thanks man! Yup managed to find a great second hand deal on one as I've been after one for a while :-) Lots of the tabs are over at Patreon for ones I've done full lessons for mate, I'll be covering some of these tracks at some point tho ;-)
Ahhh will do bud. I have got an urge to watch terminator 2 after that vid 👍👍👍
Playing was good, just an unfortunate year for riffs once we look back...
What a year .
Yes,it was great, and yes,it's 30 years ago 👴
I'm Always think in 1991
Where is Until the End of the World?
I wish i could see Therapy?. Unfortunately 😔
sorry Emrah! 1991 was a strong year :-)
Lol ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🍄🍃
Needs more AIC and Radiohead ;)
haha pretty sure they didn't release anything in 1991 :-) At least I hope they didn't or I'll have some strong words with myself!
@@LetsPlayAll You’re right lol I misread the title of the video.
😂😂
How are you? Your really trying to out do yourself, huh?
Hey Douglas, been busy mate haha. Been meaning to do this for a while, had to sneak it in before 2022!
Hungerstrike is a bit too fast.
Got a bit excited ;-)
@@LetsPlayAll It's an awesome song. I understand and learning how to play it made me very excited as well. I can relate 😁
