    Great footage and well crafted video. Great memories. Munising is a cool little town too with beautiful hikes and landscape. I can’t wait to go back!

      Thank you for watching! I really wish I hadn't had to rush my way through Munising. I also hope to return someday!

    Backpacked from Grand Marais to Munising with friends about one month after this video was posted. Absolutely stunning hike that I could recommend to new and veteran backpackers alike. Agreed that rocks + water is an automatic win. I'll be heading a bit west of the PR in late August to solo backpack the Porcupine Mountains. Really looking forward to it.

      Awesome!! Both of those (Pictured Rocks and Porcupine Mountains) are on my list of “places I’d like to go backpacking someday”. Hope you have a good time

    My friend and I just hiked here recently! We stayed at the Beaver Creek Campground for the first two nights, and then Mosqito falls on our final night. The sunsets and water were absolutely amazing! Fairytale type views for sure.

    Wow it is super beautiful up there! The duck was a female merganser (either Red-breasted or Common). Definitely a Sandhille Crane! Can't wait to see your adventures backpacking on Isle Royale. Liked the sneak peak!

      Always with the mergansers lol!!

    I second the through hike 👌 I did three nights from Grand Marais to Munising in mid October and it was absolutely gorgeous with the fall colors. Almost as awesome was there were no BUGS! If you don't mind it being a little chilly I highly recommend going in the fall. Side note I made a lyric video of the trip but after watching your videos I wish I had something better to film with than my iPhone 8 lol
    6:38 Kinda funny I decided to take a swim and rinse off right about there because it had gotten to low 60s that day but with all the warm clothes I had on it felt like a heat wave. Yes, it was cold 🥶🤣

      I saw your video - definitely makes me want to visit during the fall when the leaves are changing, and would be awesome to through hike it!

    Beautiful hikes! To really see the intensity of the pictured rocks you have to do the sunset boat tour, or kayak. The colors of the cliffs are simply astounding! I’m from Michigan but found your channel today from your Mexico City video which was excellent- I’ll be moving there next year :). Most likely to Coyoacán neighborhood.

      Ooh that would be so cool to see from the water! The Coyoacán neighborhood was by far my favorite area we visited while we were there

      @@mikhailalynn Hope you travel more to Mexico! Lots of hiking to be done - I did one near Puerto Vallarta to get to a tiny beach (Colomitos)- rugged path up and down and I'm over 50, lol, but it was fun. Same as your hike here, it was up above the water so as long as I could see the water I knew I wouldn't get lost haha

      Definitely! And some of the volcano hikes would be neat (but also intense)

    Now that you've hiked Isle Royale, you need to go back to Pictured Rocks and do the through hike. It's so much fun! If you do go, make your reservations for overnight sites early. They fill fast. I stayed at Benchmark, Cliffs & Coves in late August/early September. It was my first backpacking trip and my first solo backpacking trip, and it was magical. Before my hike I stayed overnight at a little motel and on my way there, Google maps tried to route me on a dirt road for ATVs....I laughed at that part of your video. I had to call the hotel to figure out how to get there. Turns out I was just a mile or two away.

    • @mikhailalynn
      @mikhailalynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love to do that! Thank you for the suggestions. Also very glad someone can relate to my ATV road struggles.

      I agree! Me and a friend stayed at Beaver creek and mosquito falls & we had the time of our lives. So many amazing views and wild blueberries everywhere. I'll be going back next year 100%.

    You make some great content. The UP and Isle Royal trips really have me itching to get up there. You should really check out The Manistee River/North Country Trail loop. It’s 21 miles with half of it being right along the river.

    Looks like I watched your videos out of order. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore has been on my wanna do list. I'm a hobbyist photographer and now I absolutely MUST visit. Shame ya had so much rain, but better to have it where you were than on Isle Royale.

    • @mikhailalynn
      @mikhailalynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would definitely recommend Pictured Rocks! One thing to do if you have time that I wish I could have done is a boat or kayak tour to see from the water. I agree about the rain - much better there than Isle Royale!

      @@mikhailalynn We went to Munising when the kids were little. Made the mistake of doing the shipwreck tour instead of pictured rocks. Kids got bored.

    Wow Michigan is so beautiful. Maybe I’m a bit biased cause I grew up there. I spent about a week in the Up and loved. Got eaten alive but it was well worth it. We spent a lot of time jumping in lakes partially cause it’s fun and also to keep the bugs off. Probably the cleanest water I’ve ever swam in. Nice to see you enjoying yourself

      It was my first time in the UP. I loved it, and definitely agree about the clarity of the water!!
