Sir you have mentioned that fatty liver disease is confirmed when you see fat deposit in ultrasound+ elevated sgpt and sgot levels. So what is considered as elevated?
I know there is a reference range but what fold increase or increment in levels is considered high ?

Dr...but, before completely garbaging the turmeric you should have proved there is no effect of curcumin in glutathione production. It will not reverse the fatty liver itself but can be a good supplement to aid with it.

I am 31 now and when I was 28, during ultra sound scan i got a report depicting 'parenchymal liver disease', with sgot 115 sgpt 41. With slight higher total blood cholestrol - 220, normal bp and normal blood sugar and I was 175cm, 97kg that time. Doctor told me to do dieting and to reduce weight. I checked after losing 7kg in 2 months then found sgot and sgpt both below 35, with normal total blood cholestrol below 200.
I am 31 and 98kg now with normal blood sugar, bp, cholestrol. What is this parenchymal liver disease. Shall I need to go for further check ups?

is fat or sugar which makes as fat? Confusion arises because fat has more calories but sugar gets directly converted to fat
Everyone talks the same subject in different languages, with slight difference in the details. Highly technical content makes the subject complicated like fibroscan, dexa scan, biopsy etc.etc.and the calculated values that PRESUME to arrive at the final conclusion whether it is inflammation or Disease. In any case, PREVENTION is better than cure and the suggestions are quite informative. Any way that we look at the progression of the disease is very important and any language that we may try to put the message across should be welcomed .Thanks for your advice and the message, that should be taken in all its seriousness and importance by everyone. എന്റെ (Age 54) Parents - ന് 2 പേർക്കും Non Alcoholic cirrhosis ഉണ്ട് . അതിനാൽ 3 വർഷം മുൻപ് Scan ചെയ്തു. Grade II fatty liver ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. Fibroscan ചെയ്തു. Median stiffness - 6.3kPa ആയിരുന്നു. ഇത് പാരമ്പര്യമാണോ ?
മരുന്നൊന്നും കഴിച്ചില്ല. Carbohydrates കുറച്ചു, Exercises ചെയ്തു. 5 - 6 Kg wait കുറഞ്ഞു.
പക്ഷെ കഴിഞ്ഞ മാസം Scan ചെയ്തപ്പോഴും Grade I / II fatty liver എന്ന് കാണിക്കുന്നു.
ഇതിനിടയിൽ covid പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു.
