    Nice review. Advantages of using TARGET software? How do you get the gear down lights to operate?

      Thanks! With TARGET, you can setup separate profiles if you use your controls with multiple games. You can setup macro commands too and it does allow for scripting. I'm looking into the gear lights too, as I haven't seen them light up either now that you mention it.

    I love the look and I love my hotas warthog so I'm sure the quality is great but I cannot justify the price point. Great review

      Thank you! I really enjoy my Warthog as well. Not cheap for sure, though seems like everything is more expensive these days.

    how the hell did you mount this on a next level racing chair??

    • @DieselThunderAviation
      @DieselThunderAviation  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t think they’ve offered new plates that will bolt direct. What I did then was to download the mounting template from Thrustmaster, line up what holes I could, and then drill the other ones needed in order to get the bolts in.

      @@DieselThunderAviation did you drill them right into the mounting plate that came with the chair? thats my thought currently, but the holes would be so close to other holes already in the plate, that it looks like it wouldn't be very stable...

      That's exactly what I did, after lining up the template against some of the existing holes. That way I wouldn't end up with overlapping holes. Feels pretty solid. Template available on the Thrustmaster site here:

    For some reason, my Viper Panel didn't get auto-mapped, so I had to map everything manually. I mapped the selector switch to the fuel selector -- much more useful while in flight. I also mapped the INCR/DECR slider to HUD brightness... the HUD is way too bright in VR so dimming it down to see gun targets or rocket targets is very handy. Love the panel, just need to figure out how to mount it good in my pit. I use the Winwing F-16 throttle, so the Viper Panel is extra for me.

      I can't help but wonder if it didn't auto map since it wasn't attached to the Thrustmaster throttle? Never hurts to adjust the buttons to suit one's need in the sim!

      @@DieselThunderAviation I think what happened was that I deleted my entire mapping some time back and have had to map everything manually. That probably had something to do with it. No matter... I like doing my own mapping anyway. Just a little tough to do it all in VR ;-)

      Ive done that! Total shock and horror and a royal pain to fix. Ended up re-mapping everything lol.....@@MikeSwanberg

    • @MikeSwanberg
      @MikeSwanberg 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@KillerKev1961 The good thing about mapping everything manually is that you have the option to customize things based on your controls (or franken-controls, in my case). I recently got WinWing's ICP/DED panel, so that gave me a new axis for the HUD brightness. So then I freed up the axis on the Viper Panel... can't have 2 axes mapped to the same control. So I moved the zoom function to the Viper Panel (for zooming in the TGP) which means I needed to unmap it from the Winwing throttle... so now the axes on the throttle control cockpit interior lighting. In the end, most of my switch mappings I rarely use... they're just mapped to set a "default" for the jet. Like I have 2 switches set for the hardpoints because DCS can "match" them to my control settings and I was continually forgetting to turn on the HTS and the TGP. Seems like I spend an hour configuring for each hour I spend flying ;-)

    Hey...by any chance, do you know how to switch on RWR bottoms and landing gear handle's lights? I tried to program it in T.A.R.G.E.T firmware but the TQS just doesn't show up on the menu....

    • @DieselThunderAviation

      The TARGET software should allow you to do this, current version of TARGET is v3.0.23.608.
      Alternatively, you can use the controller itself to do this, details are in the manual but I'll paraphrase it here. At the same time, push and hold down the heading knob and the RWR System Power button for 2 seconds, the System Power button should start flashing. Use the heading knob to adjust the light level to what you want. To save this, hold down the heading knob and System Power button for 2 seconds, the System Power button should stop flashing. Hope this helps.

      Yes, looks like the TARGET software does not support Win11 for now for some reasons, iguess i need to wait some more time. But thanks for the long answer anyway!@@DieselThunderAviation Thanks

    does it work properly with Warthunder?

    • @DieselThunderAviation
      @DieselThunderAviation  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure as I don't play War Thunder, though if it recognizes joysticks as input devices, then you should be able to use this throttle.

    500. US ?? no thanks, I will keep my winwing F16 setup, all thrustmasters controls feel cheap and are over priced for plastic outdated garbage

      While the price may be a bit much for some, I can assure you that this control doesn't feel cheap at all.
