4:08 "Land of the giants"? That's deceptive. The jaguar is much smaller than African or Asian cats. The largest herbivore is a rodent. The caiman are significantly smaller on average than crocodiles or alligators. So putting that odd punchline in the narration over that Louisiana guitar sounds more like a sales pitch than reality.
The largest Xenarthrans: Giant Armadillos and Giant Anteaters. The largest snake: the Green Anaconda, The largest rodent, capybara, the largest eagle: The Harpy Eagle. Largest Mustelid: Giant River Otter. Largest Parrot, Hyacinth Macaw.
And imagine - merely 10,000 years ago or so, in those same plains you would have found even bigger critters. Gomphotheres, giant armadillos, giant ground sloths, saber-toothed cats, rhino-like Toxodon, and more...
I’ve traveled to Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, México, India, Middle East, and many other countries. *But the only other destination I want to experience is ride down the Amazon River (Pantaneal) during the rain season NOT WITH PROPELLERS but strictly WATER JETS because they can travel down extremely SHALLOW WATERS like the AMAZON RIVER. ONLY BECAUSE I WANT A DESTINATION OF SOLITUDE, so I can actually EXPERIENCE and ENJOY THE SURROUNDINGS without the immature nonsense.
Intro too long, not enough about the Pantanal and its wildlife, no mention that the Pantanal is dry for a large part of the year. Come on, BBC, you're better than this.
With the music in the background I didn't know whether they in South America or the bayou of Louisiana 😂
Yeah, I don't think that music worked well for what they were doing.
Not at all suitable
The music was a bit over the top
Lol
The ONLY, the ONLY people who get the music right is the BBC. And got it right again, they did.
Like why using southern - everglades - rock, if this is south america?
@@blucat4 bot
@@lobomalsano Why not?
The metal slide guitar as backing music sounded incongruous.
Very disturbing!
I prefer sugar flute over the soundtrack for more accuracy.
I'm happy for you finally getting to use that word
@@breakneck777 Which word, The?.............;)
Also the weird colouration and slow mo. Seems like BBC aiming for a US audience.
3:33 Bird tryin' to get a capybara's attention for some reason.
It's picking parasites, I think.
Think about that for a second ...a 350 pound Jaguar, and it's all muscle.
It's not all muscle; that boy is well fed.
Yes but how many guinea pigs does it weigh?
All swamps come standard with electric slide guitar sound effects
The background music is weird and annoying.
The ONLY, the ONLY people who get the music right is the BBC. And got it right again, they did.
This video was recorded almost 15 years ago.
Annoying

Naah. It's awesome🎉
12 yrs old docu... the poor old Pantanal burnt to the bloody core just last year having suffered prolonged extreme drought
😢😢
These diverse species are a blessing for Brazil.
My country is incredible has many treasures: Pantanal, amazon Atlantic forest, caatinga
Aqui é Brasil!!! Um dos nossos riquíssimos biomas: Pantanal!! ❤
Make sure you keep it that way.
won't last long with the cows-based diet
Pantanal is such a gorgeous region.
This documentary is incredible! Nature's true wonders! 🌿🐾
Why did they get the music from a cable bass fishing show, for the background?

Yes, giants... Even a snail, too. (together with anaconda)

The caiman are significantly smaller on average than crocodiles or alligators. So putting that odd punchline in the narration over that Louisiana guitar sounds more like a sales pitch than reality.
You missed the point. It's not comparing tge jaguar to lions or tigers. They are comparing it to other jaguars around the world.
The largest Xenarthrans: Giant Armadillos and Giant Anteaters. The largest snake: the Green Anaconda, The largest rodent, capybara, the largest eagle: The Harpy Eagle. Largest Mustelid: Giant River Otter. Largest Parrot, Hyacinth Macaw.
@@ME-hm3tc The largest rodent! The biggest midget. The tallest valley. The biggest small thing.

👌💯. Lots of nutrition in the swamp to feed the giants.
Excellent
The unexpected color change and riff was a lil psychedelic. Neat
When they showed the anaconda, my eyes is on the snail! That's a huge snail!
Wonderful place and fantastic creatures
It's like Skull Island but... Skull Inland? Imagine they had an undiscovered giant primate of some sort too 😂
Beautifully done! Breath-taking
So beautiful to see nature thriving like this.❤❤❤❤❤
It's much different without Sir David Attenborough narrating.
Who?
Bbc, please try to get local music next time. Pantanal is a sertanejo kind of music land, you’re welcome
I want a capybara
I very much enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
I liked the bgm...its unique for a bbc earth video👍🏻
Those people on the boats look like absolute dorks.
Brilliant! Love it. 🙂
RIP youtube's compression algorithm.
"Everything here is BiG" 😂 its way more than BIG😂
When he says Pantanal those guitar...😅😅😂😂

wow❤
Thank for info
Thanks. ✌🏻👊🏼
Music is more fitting for a story about the Mississippi Delta .
A bear eating salmon at 1:06? There are no bears in the Pantanal.
Wow 👍
I love the weekends. Your on TV 📺 thank you ❤❤❤
Nice documentary
R.I.P. Pantanal
Useful information
2:46 anyone notice the big shell?
KOOL!
The music rocked! 🤘
"These elusive cats are so numerous people travel from around the world to see them"😮
peaceful🌸🌸
Was that a salmon moving up the cascade? Was that a black bear waiting to catch it?? Are not both North American species???
There are salmon and bear species all over the world.
@@clueless4085 I did not use the plural. At 1:06, I do not think that a Spectacled bear, the only species in South America.

बहुत सुंदर
Looks like our victory falls in Zambia
Looks like the biggest snail in the world too
When the Anaconda came first into sight .. was that a giant snail on the bottom screen?
This video I think was recorded like almost 15 years ago. It seems old and outdated.
So basically the big rat is everyones food.
この川を無事に登り切った鮭は、もれなく龍になれそう🤗💕
It's a miss information that anacondas can grow up 9 m long. The largest one measures 6,45 meters.
The background score is too loud. It masks the actual narration.
It was an interesting video but the music really distracted from it.
Step aside Texas, there's a new contender for "bigger in ________" place

3:19 that's a big boi here
What's the music? Pleeeeaaase!
Eeeehh Brasilsao
Sushmita: turn that flippin music off !!!
Nakakatakot!
everything big there, including me!😏
No one's going to comment about that giant snail shell, that's as big as the anaconda head??
❤❤😊😊
At least put music from South America.
I think Burmese Python is the largest
And land of Giants perhaps wouldn't that be Africa?
Reticulated Python is the longest. But Green Anaconda is the largest, because they are considerably heavier.

Everything is bigger in America
Is this where Lizzie is from?
This music is really hard to take
They should build a Walmart there
Incredible footage. Overly dramatized and frankly dumb script with maybe 4 useful sentences - they even managed to make it about humans.
If exaggerating was a video 👆🏻
Didn't see any giants 😕.
What’s up with the music
This is nature documentary NOT ROCK CONCERT.
😊สวัสดีครับ
The music was horrible and distracting
The ONLY, the ONLY people who get the music right is the BBC. And got it right again, they did.
The music reminded me of Ted Nugent.
So if a beaver was a Pokemon would it be grass/water type or normal/water type ? 🤔
We already have one-- Bibarel. It's Normal/Water.

Maybe lower expectations for a 4 min clip...
This is just a taste, if you want more info you should probably watch the full documentary
@@kaka-eh2wt Maybe your 4-minute clip Should be more selective about where it begins and/or what it includes.
The Pantanal is burnt out. As it dries out, it is inevitably losing its ability to function as a wetland and is at risk of becoming a savannah.
Totally spoilt by irritating music
not as heavy as an average AMERICAN man, pantanal jaguar :D
The background 'guitar' is definitely annoying and drowns out the narrator.
largest no. of human crocodile in the world also found in america.
Uh.., 🤔 FYI? Crocodile's 🐊 are a different species of reptile than a Cayman. For ur information only.
