It's a missing opportunity that if we think about it, their technology, like motorcycles, jetpacks, or any machines really, are related to Pyro (fire) in real life as fire is mostly used for powering technologies, including propulsion (combustion engines). Most fire uses are centered around technology (Electro too) and have lower natural importance, unlike the other elements that's very vital for nature and life. But the devs decided to make the nation tribal rather than industrialized, Imagine if they made Natlan an industrialized nation just like the ATLA's Fire Nation.
I love Natlan as a region. The colorful design, the spread of the tribes throughout the lands over one big city, the Saurian companions for each region, the music, exploration mechanics, and possibly the best grand story that isn't all about the traveler but rather all out war. I also got Xilonen and will get Mavuika and probably Chasca on her rerun, but I wholeheartedly agree that Natlan suffers from lazy writing regarding the design choices for character technology. It also stems from not using fantasy and sci-fi technology but actual real-world recent technology, which was a bad decision. Chasca should have been riding a Saurian or a Saurian hoverboard. Xilonen could have had one or two wheels on her feet instead of "roller skates" and the Turntable should have never existed (it brings nothing to the table at all). Giving Mavuika a hover bike that takes aesthetic designs from dragon guardian tech and it being the last of the relics would have fit the aesthetic and story much more. It's simply that they chose to use real world modern tech.
where is any war tbh? you get cutscenes and quests but I dont see any war outside of that, yes its lazy writing and lazy characters designs, mavuilka bike feels like random dude stepped into office and decided "we adding bike to genshin, I like bikes" soon well see planes and atomic bombs in genshin cuz whats stopping mihoyo from adding that if players just accept chasca and mavuilka?

The only characters that got special tools made are Natlan vision users, Non-vision and Non-natlan people can't handle long exposure to Phlogiston. Normal genshin characters have no magic pockets to store their magic tools when the power source runs out. Vision users are standing out because they are literally build different

Finally a video that speak up all my complaints about BAD designs of Mavuika, Xilonean and Chasca And I say this with a huge disappointment since chasca is actual my favorite character from gameplay POV. But I can’t stand the stupidity of that silly pistol PLUS, why there is NO gun and No motorcycle during cutscenes? I don’t want them to be, cauze it would be really SAD and DUMP to see how Mavuika fights Capitano with a stupid motorcycle 😢 But still, the fact that there is no huge gun or motorcycle in cutscenes makes the immersion even more hurtful and hilarious Those modern invention just don’t fit the settings of the game as a whole! It would have been different if Natlan as a whole were looking into their ancient roots and recreating things as a national culture (like if they did mass archelogical research on the ruins) but didn't. One or two cases of people with eureka moments don't justify it in the narative of Natlan as a nation. Would be different if Xilonen was inspired by a gun from Fontaine since guns aren't even a thing in Natlan. Tribal tech done right is like Wakanda is in Marvel comics. It shouldn't be limited to just the playable characters, it should be a cultural integration which Genshin does not do.
