- The summer holidays are upon us! Shelley is working and Matilda has a play date with one of he friends. Join AJ and I as we head into town to buy some essentials. On our way, we point out some of the interesting historical sites of Alverton Road-the main road into Penzance from the west. Also, we try a pasty from a newly opened bakery in Penzance!

Lovely to see what's going on in Penzqnce. That pasty looks good.
The pasty was good! Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍🏻
Really enjoyed that, I'd never noticed that boundary stone before and, yes, I always describe that house as the Scooby Doo mansion as it reminds me of the opening part of the classic series Scooby Doo Where Are You? You should do more walking tours of other parts of Penzance, it was really interesting.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. Yeah, I might just do that. 👍🏻
One question:- On the old (now moved) gatepost at the bottom of Kings Road, there is a little blue and white tile thingy. Do you have any idea what it is or what it's about? There's another one on the wall in the alleyway beside the First and Last which takes you down to Penlee Park. Any ideas?
@@regnaddetsaw7499 I’ve wondered for ages what they are. No idea. I’ll have to try and find out!
I found a very interesting and totally absorbing article that ties in with this video very well. Alverton: West of Penzance by Paul Mason. This article is a complete history of Alverton.
Cool. I’ll try to check that out. Thank you! 👍🏻
@@theBriceSide you are very welcome, I love local Cornish history, especially when it’s about Penzance, thank you for posting your video’s.
Funny isn’t it how you go into town all the time but never take any notice off the buildings around you, think I’ll have to go and have one off those pasties it looked lovely, the cold coffee looks nice but it’s no mead wine is it 😂😂
The old buildings are lovely if you take the time to look, for sure. Yes, highly recommend the pasties from Loafs, but between you and me and anyone else reading this, they’re not as good as Harvery’s the butchers at the top of Queen Street. ‘Ansom!
@@theBriceSide Ah I see I’ll have to check the pasties out from loaf and Harvey’s sounds like a plan to me 😃😃
Go for it!
@@theBriceSide I’ll let you know how it goes 👍
No way I was also in pz all day today
Nice! Did you get a pasty?
@@theBriceSide I didn’t unfortunately
Disaster!!
