We’ve already done a basic version of this tune. Now we are going to learn a version closer to how Don Rich played with Buck Owens. We’ll do this mainly by adding double stops.
    00:48 play full tune
As a warm up practice the A double stop scale:
    02:37 A0-1-2-3-E0-1-2-3
    Also practice these double stops:
    03:01 D1A1
    03:24 A4E0

I thought one of the 5 cats in my house was complaining about my playing. Love your sense of humor. I will be rejoining your subscription as a result of this video saving my behind cause I gotta play on a float in a Mardi Gras parade in two days and although I have messed around with this tune in the past, I thought it was rather repetitive and boring until you added the variations. Thank you very much. I will now make this a go to tune when the circle jam comes around to me in the future.

I would have never had the opportunity to learn to play this tune had it not been for your KIND HEART and taking the time to teach these wonderful fiddle tunes! I felt that I could never play it properly, but I rewound countless times and I'm now able to do the tune with double stops added. In a weeks or so, I hope to be able to play it 'just like you' HiHiHi Many Blessings from 70-yr old Nickie from Ontario Canada.

Smiling. Thanks for the kind words, "Nickie from Ontario"! Glad you find these TH-cam videos helpful. There are hundreds of them I developed over the last several years. I also started a subscriber site at fiddlehed.com. The TH-cam lessons will continue to be available but the site has guided lessons with tabs, play alongs, etc. You can have free access to the site for the forum, blog, request list and the first few beginner lessons. There is also a Fiddlehed Facebook page.

Greetings from the river in london!
I really like your channel and I don't even play Fiddle- I was checking out some Cajun Fiddle in order get a better understanding of the style for my next TH-cam harmonica lesson. Great stuff, I'll tell my fiddle playing friends about your channel.

Bobby, just noticed I didn't comment here. I did put this on the very, very long list a long time ago. Sorry not to let you know sooner.

Your note markings on each sting seem odd. My full notes are in a different position than yours, and on my fiddle, full and half notes on each string are in different positions or lengths from neck?
