  • If you're looking for a new tent, check out Wildlands. They provided a code which will get you a deal (expires Jan 1st, 2021): WildlandsBAO
    wildlandsoutdoorgear.com/coll...
Josh & Jim at Wildlands Outdoor Gear are viewers and they sent us the tent as a gift. We have no incentive (financial or otherwise) to endorse their products, nor do we take scripted lines for any gifts we're sent from anyone.
With a November warm spell, Erin and I cancel our hot tenting plans and squeeze in one last canoe trip for the season with some low volume bump-and-grind whitewater action. I try out the new 360 camera (GoPro Max) Erin gave me, Erin plays with the new axe, and we take in a beautiful weekend on the upper Black River capped off with brook trout and a sunrise to remember.

in all the years of camping outdoors as a kid... i don't remember ever splitting wood for a campfire. i remember making a fire ring and clearing the surrounding area but we always just laid logs across the fire, burned them through the center and kept feeding them end for end until they were gone. a lot less chance of axe-idents if you axe me lol!

You two were working together so well navigating the white water! I love to see videos from the stern paddler's perspective, and watching how the canoe reacts to each draw/cross-draw from the bow paddler. It's very informative and helpful as I'm learning the basics of whitewater. The wading sucks but after all Erin is the reigning ice queen! Absolute money drone footage, amazing beauty! Thanks for taking us along on the last paddling trip of 2020 Jon and Erin, cheers!

Oh man, I subscribed lastnight and watched a few videos, great content. Tonight I started watching this video and got a little anxious with the canoe footage in the rapids at the beginning.
I have some real bad anxiety with canoes in general. I love the thought of fishing from them in a calm, creek or lake... but any water disturbance and I get very uneasy in them... haha.
But I kept watching and I'm glad I did... you're doing the tings I wish I had time to do.
    Cheers from Manitoba!

Thanks Luke! It's a great beer...didn't think I'd like it but the blueberry is subtle. Plus I like a strong beer :) That's cool to hear about the lake too...figured it was just a name

Awesome video guys. That camera is so amazing on capturing both perspectives when running rapids.

Thanks Aidan! I think we'll find lots of fun uses for it, but I don't think any of them will be more useful than in rapids :)

Cool bend around corner canoe have to get one of those. To Erin good job taking out someone else’s garbage it always perplexes me the disrespect some people have for the beautiful places that they are drawn to.

Love the videos of doing the rapids... something I want to play with more. It helps to watch others, I know different to be doing it but it helps to learn what to look for.

Thanks Sally, watching others really helped me build confidence before I went out too. Going out with someone experienced is ideal though

Hoooooweee! I can feel that icy-cold water! And that breathtaking morning drone footage. Wow. Greatest moment though @ 34:01 - straight out of a mushroom experience (and I don't mean chaga!). Awesome job, as always, you two. Thanks again for taking us all with you, throughout this very challenging open-water season. PS - stoked to get my hands on those billybellows! Thanks, Erin!

When you start to hesitate between a canoe or a pair of skates I think it's time to close the season 🤔 . About the 360 Gopro , my mind is not ready for this dimension yet, I get dizzy 🤤 . Thank's for sharing , you'r my favorite couple on TH-cam

Here is a tip from my Great Great Grand Pap during the Hudson Bay Era. You need a keen eye and steady hands. When you don"t have a good base to split campfire wood. Use the bottom of the canoe when it has been overturned for the nights rest. Plenty of room to split wood.

Yikes, I'd have to have a real steady hand to be willing to split on my canoe lol

FYI: Erin has an Insta account for Billy Bellows @OriginalBillyBellows. And if anyone would like a Billy Bellows, they're $20 each which includes shipping to any typical place in Canada and the US. They're handmade by Erin's dad in Thunder Bay, Canada. Erin made a website to order :)
