Great film. Was near 100 accurate on dealing with the desert heat and tracking. Once a lost child heads deeper into the mountains, it becomes a worse situation. 24 oz of water will not carry you very long and while you're on the move. Linda was perfect for this role. Love her style and personality. The way she narrates and sharing her thoughts. Love that.

Not even close to “100% accurate”in that environment. As I posted, they don’t even show her or anybody sweating whatsoever nor her clothes/hat with sweat stains or even slightly dirty. Couldn’t be more unrealistic.
@@Benmelech You're correct obviously. I did later contemplate the lack of dripping wet one should be and that water would've been toast way before the 14+ hours of her first round. The water would barely last you 2-3 hours in 100 degrees as far as sweating goes. Just 2 hrs and 2 liters of water is toast which I did elude to in my previous.
They really did their homework on this film and got a lot of the basic principles of tracking right. Top quality production with a top quality actress!
Now this is a great movie, I loved it. And there were no commercials. A must see.

OMG I agree this is a great movie but then I'm a sucker for a happy ending 😊 Kevin was a man none of us women want to come up against but unfortunately they exist. I'm glad she was one of the lucky ones and she got away from him and her children were returned to her unharmed. God bless them all.😊

I’m always liked her. She’s is an amazing actress in the storyline was amazing. This movie fits her like a tea. She’s tough as nails I’ll bet in real life.
Loved this movie so much. The the endless love of a mother for her children, the enter strength we all need to over come hard lesson in life.... and there are so many....😢

This was one of those rare excellent TV movies from the 70s.
Oh my word! That was a double or triple happy ending!!! I admit I cried!
I started just wondering as to how many greedy commercials I will watch before I give up on this movie. Great movie, fortunately, ,the ads stopped being so, so, so close together and frequent after 30 mins in and I was able to continue on to the end. Almost missed a great movie.

What a stupendous film. Such a courageous woman. Kevin should have been taught such a lesson that would have persuaded him to leave her and the kids alone permanently. Interesting insight into the difficulties a tracker could encounter especially on such rough terrain.

This movie is hard to follow with all her flashbacks.
Filmmakers sure did a horrible job portraying the reality of being in that environment. They don’t perspire nor sweat stains on their clothes nor the clothes getting even slightly dirty, etc., etc. etc.👎👎👎🥵

I'm appalled at US courts!
Hamilton was absolutely terrible in this. She wasn't too smart of a tracker if she couldn't even take care of herself and became a burden on others nor give the girl water when she found her. I don't know why all these people are praising her here.

Can you start cutting for sign at the point where you lost the sign you were on. And you start a small circles working out not at the outward perimeter.

Well, there are flaws in this movie. Where is the helicopters above head backing up Rachel's tracking and if she knew the little girl was in that area why were helicopters not brought in to look and search this is not making sense.
She had predator invisible gear on lol.
Something is very odd about this movie. She is seen doing her work of tracing those kids whereabouts like Sherlock Holmes used to trace culprits by finger prints and movements. Is this real?
If my kid went missing in the wee hours the bathroom would be the first place I checked and I would have found the flashlight. Duh
