@Blueberry yeah I've gotten to the point I feel like I can't play defense spino just due to how unbearable the movement and turning is. I've had cases where a pack of megalania can run me down underwater just because they can stick to my back and by the time I turn they just swim up a bit and my low ass hitbox can't reach them. Out of all the semi aquatics I think spino has the most awkward water combat.
I played the duck for the first time yesterday because I was just exhausted from being afraid of water and anything that moves. I think I've found my new main. The creature is just fun. I can escape into the water if I need to or on land. I'm not a PVP player at all, basically I just want to chill, waddle around and do my quests. So far I've pretty much always given a friendly call to everything I've encountered and I've been attacked maybe three times. I love this dino. I am just a friendly herbivore but I can defend myself if I need to.

My favorite duck build is defense subspecies with streamlined, it’s one of the best build in my opinion I’ve got a really high win rate underwater and on land with defense duck
Ultimately, I like the fact the duck is stronger than Sarco. People keep complaining about its power but it’s purpose is to outmatch the Sarco since it can kill basically anything else. Not everything in nature is almighty and kill everything it wants; there’s balance. That’s why I have no problem with the duck, it’s a survival game with creatures that outmatch one another. Just play smart and know your opponent.
The problem here is that ducks counter like everything underwater with not much counter themself. Why does their thick hide give defense as well as bleed resistance? Usually you have to choose between the 2. Why does duck swim and walk faster than any semi aquatics? Essentially they outdo semis but you c can't escape them either because you can't leave combat. If people want them to be the ultimate apex of the water then they need a nerf to speed. Make them bulky hard hitters but they can be outswam. Right now they're basically a an underwater rex that can't be outswam lol. Don't think people would be cool with a rex outrunning every medium and apex tier in the game with its current stats
@@slaayerr1 as i duck main i can tell you that ducks are not this OP that you’re making them sound like, their claw attack it pretty slow, a water spino is faster than a water duck (if not the same speed) and I’ve fought good spino, sarco players and its not that OP, also their claw attack hit box it pretty weird in water cause you constantly need to be on top of your enemies to hit them reliably, an also a water duck takes SO MUCH DAMAGE from any thing, spino takes just a few bites to kill you, sarco charge bite can drain your heal in a flash if you’re no careful. Its not that strong dude chill out you’re making it sound like this thing can face tank a rex (something the trike should be able to do). Is duck strong? Yes pretty strong but not that strong. Also even a spino on land can give sometimes a duck a run for its money cause it has (and ive witnesed myself) a better turn radius than duck when running, so if youre being tail riden by a duck just start running in circles and eventually you should be tail riding it.
@Dado Prado fair points. I think the issue I personally have with ducks is hits not registering well on them and it causes a lot of frustration. Spinos also have horrendous hitbox animations underwater where you basically have to mount the duck to hit it. That and the fact they turn like a trailer in the water without a pivot hurts their ability. As soon as i am out of the water as spino I don't have an issue with ducks but underwater they just sit on your sail swiping. As for sarcos i think again it's registration of hits. I've had where I have legitimately bit down on the body of multiple ducks in few minute fights and they tell me they barely took damage or "I missed". So while my previous post may be in frustration for the wrong reason, I am seeing a severe issue in consistency when fighting ducks underwater. One second they feel like they never die, then the next they feel like tissue paper. So there is something that needs to be fixed overall with water combat

Sarco should have 900 HP and not 480 like bro its an 4ton Monster it should be able to kill atleast a allo or a sucho like its so weak last time i barely made it out alive against a sucho and even tho i chose speed build sarco its still slower then a sucho i think they should buff it by it having 900hp and 20%faster in water damage is still very good
Thats a recipe for disaster a good sarco player is a pain to take down they deal so much damage with that dam charged bite and they can be kinda tanky cause they loose next to no speed with their defence hide, so keeping the monstrous damage, making it a tank and giving it more speed will make it so that sarcos would be a must have for water and you will see nothing but sarcos in water.
Ducks are a bit op imo. Of course really good right now and I see almost as many ducks as albertas. To make the duck where it should be I think just lower it's dmg output and it would make more sense

Sarco can literally one shot dasps now though, with its ambush ability they wanna make sarco a glass cannon ambusher and not a water brawler.
Just pick and avoid your fights wisely, you can always just swim away if you see a deinocheirus where you are setting up
Essentially, you wanna show yourself as least as possible.
