  • Spearfishing is a path to self-sufficiency! Nowadays we are very disconnected from our food and where it comes from. With knowledge and ambition, we can take steps towards a more independent, sustainable future!
Kingfish are revered for their strength, beauty and abundance in my home county, New Zealand. Even on the doorstep of our largest city, Auckland, they grace the waters of The Hauraki gulf.
Thank you to Alain and Rudi for the awesome diving. The south Africans are no strangers to lekker yellow tail!
Targeting kingfish is a great option to feed both body and mind. The hunting, exhilarating, the flesh delicious. In this video we go after these magnificent fish in the shadow of Auckland City.
For thousands of years humans were an integrated part of the natural world. In modern times we lead existences more disconnected from the natural world than probably ever before. On the land and in the water lies everything you need to live a full healthy happy life. Don't be fooled into thinking the world is against you, it is for you. Our plane, that you are designed for, and is designed for you.
    Trust in mother nature.
This video is testament to the fact that we can still do it. We can catch our own food; we can strive to become self-sufficient. We are hunter gatherers, let us reconnect to our ancient tradition and take our place in the natural world, where we belong.
Everybody has to eat but the majority of people get their food from buying it with money. It is convenient but it puts us out of touch with our food. And makes us very vulnerable to outside influences!
For thousands of years humans have been modifying the natural environment. A Lot of ecosystems have disappeared as our people spread across the globe. The world has changed, the abundance of other beings and the biodiversity of ecosystems has for the most past, been decimated.
Our ancestors had the privilege of witnessing the natural world in a less corrupted state, but we now have access to more information and technology than ever before, allegedly. Our use of tools and knowledge is what sets us apart from most other lifeforms. I believe that the current climate is the hardest ever to live a self-sufficient, hunter gatherer type lifestyle. But because of everything we learnt in our destructive fruitless conquest of mother nature, we can have the potential to live with more understanding and connection than ever!
You do not need to be self-sufficient, right now, but I believe there will come a time. The world is changing.

I know you shouldn’t ask for locations but the second place looks like if it can be takapuna or where?

No harm in asking, but I won't say where exactly. Not far from Taka, there are kings there occasionally also.
