Thanks for the video Steve. Missed ya buddy. With a 2013 FLTRU I would have to wait until they come out with a shorter CB antenna as well. Otherwise the bike would be too heavy on one side with one long antenna and might fall over on me! :-)

aah man I would have to look into that....I havent messed with a cb system in years...but I doubt it would be that great with a shorter antennae, unfortunately.
hey bro...they actually use this same antenna for the cb radios too. I cannot say how good the reception will be as I have not ran that for cb's ...it seems to be in my experience with any short antenna that reception will not be as good as longer ones...its just how radio waves and antennas work...I would bet that if you are suing it for short waves, say maybe someone riding in your group that you would be fine.
Would have been nice if Ciro R&D would have been able to take off a couple of inches more so the tour pak would not have to be removed. Still not a bad price though.

Iv'e got the Advanblack extended saddle bags and extended rear fender. Is there a product out there that extends your antenna below the fender similar to the harley extension for clearing a tour pak. I installed a hog tunes amp that interfears with my reception. Right now I have my antenna whip located below the seat to the gas tank. Prior to the amp my reception worked good. i'm thinking if i get the antenna out again maybe that will help?
Would that work what touring pack ? What the antenna mounted in the trunk I have a 2014 Limited. Iranda Ozark Hills Arkansas Missouri Oklahoma and even with the big antenna it still cut out
Love your videos and nice product but does anyone listen to the radio? if you ride alot - you are always riding out of station distance. I would think most people would have either Sirius/XM or in my case, an MP3 player / smart phone to play / stream music.

Short, hidden, or stubby antennas are goin g to be great...some a little better than others, like this one I got about 5 stations compared to the 1 or 2 I get from other installs I have done. Thats just how radio waves work...No shorty or hidden under your fairing antenna is going to work better than a long antenna. I dont care who makes it or what they taught it to be able to do..its just science. I have installed some hidden antennas with "boosters" on them and maybe got 3 more channels, but thats about it.

09 street glide factory radio reception is the same with or without the antenna... Radio sound quality Poor but CD sound quality excellent. I was thinking about replacing the stereo unit... What would you recommend? Is there a good flag antenna?
Hey, I bought this antenna after watching this video for my 2021 RGL and the reception was horrible. Had to go back to the long antenna. Just wanted to post this in-case anyone is trying to decide on what to purchase.
Yeah no shorter antenna or even hidden antenna will be as good as the long one...thats just how radio waves work...they are great if you just want to shorten the antenna and not use it much...trust me ive tried about 10 different ones..
Yes. It works. Not quite as as good, but good enough. If you have a street glide, what works well is taking the antenna off the rear bracket and running it up the frame with zip ties. And it’s free
Yes, same experience as Controlled Chaos, works but not good enough for where I ride. Close to the city it's fine, get out a little bit not so good. Did the antenna along the frame and under the seat thing "before" the hidden antenna and it was better. Hidden reception was not as good. I finally bought an XM radio module and solved all reception problems. If i want a local station and I'm out a ways I use iHeart radio app from my phone. Hope this helps.
Yeah, who would have thought that playing music off a radio that plays it for free would get you a copyright violation. Ridiculous in my opinion. I have one, forget where I got it, (antenna) and it doesn't pick up crap, neither did my long standard one either, but this is MI for ya.
no antenna on the market will pick up better than your stock long one. Thats just how radio frequencies work..but I would check behind your left saddlebag and make sure you are screwed in all the way and check the connection at the radio ...depending on the model radio you have , some are hard to push in and it doesnt get pushed in all the way and some are so sloppy that riding down the road they come loose. But here where I am too we get one, maybe two decent stations if you are riding around town so we use a flash drive with music on,...I feel your pain
@@sikbaggers Thanks for the idea, didn’t even cross my mind to look at the connections, other then the antenna itself. I still have the H-D stick Stereo. Wouldn’t mind having the one you showed in the video, since SiriusXM would be a hell of lot cheaper, for the receiver. Also because of Apple Play and making headset connection easier and cheaper.
@@sikbaggers Between today and yesterday, I checked both connections. Thank you again for your reply! My radio now gets about 7 stations, compared to before, when I only got 1, if lucky. This is from my home and now I get 7 so I know, the connections were the problem. Thank you so much again.

I went with a hidden antenna. It works pretty good anywhere I go. Probably wouldn’t do it again.

I just put the HD in the fairing antenna on my 13 Ultra Classic ..works as well as the HD shorty's I had on the tour pack

yes..unfortunately the way radio waves work thats the best reception you will get. Shorty and hidden antennas work,...just not as good.
