I like my whip antenna; everybody else hates it. I was going to keep it there, regardless of peer pressure. But then, the King Tour Pak came. Even though I mounted a solo bracket, the whip rests about two inches from the top trunk. In the wind, the antenna is going to slap the box. I almost ordered an in-faring antenna, but I like your solution better, especially since I don't have to remove the fairing. Thanks for the help. Great video.

Very cool trick!! Wish I knew this with the last two RGs I had. Now I've got a RG Limited so I was actually looking for an under fairing solution after converting to a detachable trunk. Suggestions?
Thanks Keith for watching and commenting. To answer your question there is a Harley in fairing antenna that works very well. It came stock on my CVO and ST. Great reception, and it just plugs into the infotainment system under the fairing in place of the stock antenna. Check out the HD website. It will probably say it won't fit your bike but the plug in is the same on all the touring bikes as long as you have a 2015 and newer RG. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
thats a very interesting post, do you know if this works on the DAB radio reception? (as a par to just fm/am frequencies) as interested to relocate and use luggage racks, but dab radio is much better qualitty than fm/am. Have subscribed as well.
First thank you for subscribing to thr channel. I'm not sure if this would work for DAB reception but if the antenna set up is similar you could use this method and see how it works. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👍👊
Hey vibe, new to your channel, great content, just came across this vid and thought it was a genius idea, but I got to wondering if the motion of the rear swingarm/ shocks would eventually cause the antennae to wear through where it goes through the frame ?
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you found the channel. I ran the antenna as shown in this video for many miles and no problems. I also ran over 20,000 miles on my other bike like this as well with no problem. If you haven't yet, I'd be honored if you consider hitting the subscribe button. Great video! Thank you! 🙂I do have a question. You mentioned using an antenna splitter on one of your bikes. Would you mind sharing what type of splitter it was? I want to install an in-fairing cb antenna in my 2021 Road Glide but, as you said, J&M no longer sells an in-fairing cb antenna. Do you know of any supplier or manufacturer that still sells an in-fairing cb antenna?
William, unfortunately I do not. I actually called J&M to see if I could order one or more. No longer producing them and none in stock. Harley quit selling them as well. Fortunately I got two before they stopped producing them. My only suggestion is to check a CB shop if you can find one. The CB is going the way of the dinosaur. I'd also suggest continually checking ebay. I recently purchased a very good condition harley CB module to add to my other bike. Good luck with the search. Ride safe and enjoy.👊✌️👍
It's funny I have a SGS, but I don't use the infotainment system. Have a ipod, Bell helmet with sena 10A. Last thing I want is to stop the bike and have a stupid commerical playing loud for everyone to here. Great video thank you for sharing
How did you hidden antenna for CB work out? Bought a 22 RGS and put CB on it. Added a TP and put my old antenna relocation bracket from my 2015 Ultra on this bike for now. Looking for alternatives as our group still uses CB.
I have my CB antenna in the fairing. It works just fine for group rides. The range maybe a bit less but I've not had any issues. Unfortunately the company that made the in fairing antennas no longer produce them (J&M) Harley also no longer sells the in fairing CB antennas either.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm not sure I understand the context of the question. I'll be happy to answer if I can better understand the question. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👍✌️👊
@jeffrauch569 I'm guessing you are wanting to remove the tour pack. Harley sells a quick detach kit. Then you would need to add some run brake and turn lighting either on your saddle bags and or in open filler panels between the saddle bags and the frame. I'd suggest checking out the video I did on thr Street Glide ST where I completely changed the rear lighting set up with Custom Dynamics. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for your comment Thomas. The method I showed in the video works well on my bike. I do have a Harley In Fairing antenna on my CVO Street Glide that works well. I believe it is powered. I did this now my bike won’t start with either key flop, and I was never given a security pin when I bought it off the show room floor. Any suggestions?

👍Good 👍

Let’s Go!!! 🤙🏾🔥

What if the trunk has a wrap around light bar on it

@HDVIBE my tour pack has running, brake, turn signals on the tour pack
@jeffrauch569 I'm guessing you are wanting to remove the tour pack. Harley sells a quick detach kit. Then you would need to add some run brake and turn lighting either on your saddle bags and or in open filler panels between the saddle bags and the frame. I'd suggest checking out the video I did on thr Street Glide ST where I completely changed the rear lighting set up with Custom Dynamics. 👊✌️👍
Not touch your antenna, hidden antenna in the front fairing don’t work very well
Thanks for your comment Thomas. The method I showed in the video works well on my bike. I do have a Harley In Fairing antenna on my CVO Street Glide that works well. I believe it is powered. I did this now my bike won’t start with either key flop, and I was never given a security pin when I bought it off the show room floor. Any suggestions?
Have you put new batteries in the FOBs? If not try that and see if that gets you going.
Already tried that and of course the dealership is closed first nice day since I bought the bike and I can’t even ride it nothing makes a sound the security light just flashes when I turn everything on
Nothing is disconnected. I checked every wire under the seat.
Is it asking for a PIN when you switch it to run position?
@@HDVIBE yes I’ve tried all zeros all ones the last five of the Vin number nothing works
Yes you don't want the antenna poking you in the eye.
No that is not good. Thanks for watching. Ride safe 👊👍
I spent way too much on a bike that makes me want to ride my Kawasaki vulcan more

The more I ride my street glide the more I hate it "/
Sorry to hear that.
@@HDVIBE just took a short ride on my Kawasaki vulcan 2000, haven't rode in several weeks, at 100 it was like cruising 55 in a big Cadillac ") I love that bike 😀
Awesome. Sounds like a great ride. 👊👍
@@HDVIBE I could probably get my Harley to ride as good if I spent another small fortune upgrading the suspension, that's what I dislike about Harley, they build an overpriced sub standard bike, and then run you broke selling you overpriced upgrades for it "/
Good points. I appreciate your input. Ride safe 👊👍
