How to turn off PIN security on the Android lock screen

- How to remove the Android lock screen PIN. This will show you how to get to the Android security settings and remove the PIN requirement putting the device back to swipe to unlock only. Take note this is not to hack an Android device but only how to do it if you know the current PIN on the device for those that are having trouble.

This video was perfect and it worked for me. Was able to get rid of the request for a pin number and restore to access to my phones' screen via the simple "swipe" method.
Feel sorry for some the folks here for whom the instructions on this video did not help resolve their conversion concerns.

I have been struggling with this all afternoon. The key was you mentioning that their is no option to turn off. I felt like I landed back on earth. I did as you suggested by hitting swipe and that removed the pin screen lock. You are the king 👑 of the day. Motorola phones use to be easier and more obvious to use. What if you don't know the pin number. It was put on the phone by someone who wanted to steal it.

Mine shows: None, Swipe, and Pattern being gray'd out. Only leaving me with PIN and Password to work with and no keys or options to say NO to the PIN...
I had the same problem. I used the “clear credentials” option under general security settings. When I returned to the screen lock setting, the swipe option was no longer grayed out.

How do you get rid of pin lock, and keep swipe??? Really NEED pin crap gone...diabetic, have to clear metrozone before I can call, if I'm having an emergency this is all toooo hard to get help!!! My phone didn't have -swipe- function, but there was a choice - none- after all lock variants. So i chose - none-. It turned it off. Thank you .
I had to go to SECURITY and then had to CLEAR CREDENTIALS. It was then that I could change back to SWIPE.

You need to search a video for what to do in that situation or go to your provider and ask.

FINALLY!!! I found someone who shows the CURRENT way to remove the PIN! You're the only one. Everyone else kept giving me an option in settings that used to be on my S9 but isn't anymore. Instead, go to lockscreen in your settings and select SWIPE! Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks. hooray! Finally rid of the dang PIN!

THANK YOU IT WORKED A TREAT. I couldn't do it from settings so had to scroll down to apps. Found security there. Then I swiped and it said remove fingerprint which I did and switched off the phone switched it back on and IT WORKED. 👍
