    It's useful to come back and review these privacy videos from time to time. While installing/uninstalling apps, you might make changes without thinking real hard about those changes. I just found two settings that I thought were disabled, but weren't. Thanks guys!

    Interestlng note: many of these potentially nefarious settings descriptions read " This setting will improve . . . ."
    Wait . . . "improve" my experience as a user, or "improve" how much information Samsung is gathering and sharing about me.
    MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, Galaxy.
    Please continue making these awesome tutorials 😍

      Yes indeed, you're SO right.
      Can't remember the last time that a much hyped improvement did anything of great import for we customers.
      My favourite is the trumpeting of new train or tube carriage features. The latest being the boast that it can carry 20% more people.
      It takes less than a second to realise that this means that there's fewer seats which means that more people will be standing.
      Not a plus in anyone's book, save the operators.

    Yes! Please do a "de-Google" episode if you can. It looks difficult, though. I use Samsung Android tablets...and Apple iPhone (go figure...). I've enjoyed content elsewhere on installing GrapheneOS and the like...but it appears it can only be done on Google Pixel phones. You two put out the most easy-to-understand security content on TH-cam! Mahalo!

    • @connorWithTheReallyLongHandle
      @connorWithTheReallyLongHandle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If ur still in the dark on it, what tablet do u have? Try searching "installing custom ROM on [device]" and seeing what pops up. Most custom ROMs (that don't have G Apps, such as G Cam and TH-cam, preinstalled) are de-Googled. With that said, since u use TH-cam, u'll always need at least some Google services.
      FYI: While Graphine OS is exclusive to Pixels, most custom ROMs aren't exclusive to them (most can be installed on any device that has a custom recovery made for it or Fastboot, since Samsung is so popular, many things r supported on them).

    Great video. I had missed a few of these when setting up my phone. Samsung phones seem to include a plethora of privacy compromising apps/services. For example, on the topic of location even with location switched off there are 12 services that can use precise location "all the time", e.g. Samsung's "find my mobile" which I have switched off but is still running on the phone and I am not even signed in to Samsung account and it appears as "off" in settings. If I force close it will at some point restart. This is the same for other Samsung apps many of which can't be disabled or uninstalled or have their permissions modified.

    Enjoyed the video and found it very informative. I would add though, at the begining of these videos, you should indicate that you are using a Samsung device, and if you have another manufacturer, some of the options listed may either be a different name or the settings will be under a different directory structure, some may even be Samsung specific." I have a Pixel 7 Pro and had to search for some of the option names specifically to find them and a couple I gave up as what it was called on your phone didn't exist on mine. I'm running the latest Android 13 with the April Update.

      I've just bought the Pixel 7 after having Samsungs for many years. I got sick of their annoying bloatware, and I hoped a Google phone would work better with Google software. I figured the Pixel would look the same as a Samsung. How wrong was I! And why did they swap around the three-button navigation at the bottom! lol

    Thanks for great video and advice !
    I have just one question for you, if you have time and want to answer to me, but I beging you for answer.
    On android 13, gallery get some different featuer , like in gallery/albums/recent files.
    And, when I delete some pictures or video in this album, automatic phone delete that files in , for example, in my "Camera Album".
    How can I solve that (for me) issue, or how can delete this album forever ?
    I understand that feature in " My files/recent files" ( on Android 12), but on Android 12 when I "clear recent files" , that files was not delete from album in Gallery /Album.
    PLEASE, help me and answer , sorry for disturbing you.
    Best regards and wishes for you and your family 👍

    • @FrauWilhelmKlink
      @FrauWilhelmKlink ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll have to download all of them to your computer and put them on a SSD first. Once you've done that, clear them from your Google Drive.
      Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to get around paying Google for storage unless you use something like Microsoft OneDrive. All the big corporations seem to be intertwined - or partner with - each other these days. Means having access to your photos on your phone without paying Google for it is going to be difficult. That's going to come down to how much internal storage you have.

    hmm...
    let me add you about my suggestion to reduce battery drain (based miui 13, it should same with any brand, i guess)...
    - as default, all apps battery saving is set to battery recomended... set it all to limit activity background...
    - some apps is default to both mobile data and wifi is on... find the apps that you not think or need network and set it off... such like gallery, file manager, music, security, etc...
    ...
    this 2 should help any device to reduce battery drain as many as posible...
    ...
    or.... you wont to the apps are still open in background and using your network even the phone is off or without you notice, right...?

    I don't have screen mode as an option, all that's listed is. Font sizeand style, screen zoom, full screen apps, camera cutout.
